Parable of Ten Virgins

“Then^G5119 the kingdom^G932 of heaven^G3772 may be compared^G3666 to ten^G1176 virgins^G3933, who^G3748 took^G2983 their lamps^G2985 and went^G1831 out^G1831 to meet^G5222 the bridegroom^G3566.

Mat 25:2

Mat 25:2“Now five of them were foolish, and five were prudent.

Mat 25:3

Mat 25:3“For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,

Mat 25:4

Mat 25:4but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps.

Mat 25:5

Mat 25:5“Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep.

Mat 25:6

Mat 25:6“But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’

Mat 25:7

Mat 25:7“Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps.

Mat 25:8

Mat 25:8“And the foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

Mat 25:9

Mat 25:9“But the prudent answered, saying, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’

Mat 25:10

Mat 25:10“And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut.

Mat 25:11

Mat 25:11“And later the other virgins also *came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’

Mat 25:12

Mat 25:12“But he answered and said, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’

Mat 25:13

Mat 25:13“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

Parable of the Talents

(Luk 19:11–27 )

Mat 25:14

“For it is just^G5618 like^G5618 a man^G444 about to go^G589 on^G589 a^G589 journey^G589, who called^G2564 his own^G2398 slaves^G1401 and handed^G3860 over^G3860 his possessions^G5225 to them.

Mat 25:15

Mat 25:15“And to one he gave five [fn]talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.

Mat 25:16

Mat 25:16“Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more talents.

Mat 25:17

Mat 25:17“In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more.

Mat 25:18

Mat 25:18“But he who received the one talent went away, and dug a hole in the ground and hid his [fn]master’s money.

Mat 25:19

“Now^G1161 after^G3326 a long^G4183 time^G5550 the master^G2962 of those^G1565 slaves^G1401 *came^G2064 and *settled^G4868 accounts^G3056 with them.

Mat 25:20

Mat 25:20“And the one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you handed five talents over to me. See, I have gained five more talents.’

Mat 25:21

Mat 25:21“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your [fn]master.’

Mat 25:22

“Also^G2532 the one^G3588 who^G3588 had received the two^G1417 talents^G5007 came^G4334 up^G4334 and said^G3004, ‘Master^G2962, you handed^G3860 two^G1417 talents^G5007 over^G3860 to me. See^G2396, I have gained^G2770 two^G1417 more^G243 talents^G5007.’

Mat 25:23

Mat 25:23“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’

Mat 25:24

“And the one also^G2532 who had received^G2983 the one^G1520 talent^G5007 came^G4334 up^G4334 and said^G3004, ‘Master^G2962, I knew^G1097 you to be a hard^G4642 man^G444, reaping^G2325 where^G3699 you did not sow^G4687 and gathering^G4863 where^G3606 you scattered^G1287 no^G3756 seed.

Mat 25:25

Mat 25:25‘And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’

Mat 25:26

“But his master^G2962 answered^G611 and said^G3004 to him, ‘You wicked^G4190, lazy^G3636 slave^G1401, you knew^G6063 that I reap^G2325 where^G3699 I did not sow^G4687 and gather^G4863 where^G3606 I scattered^G1287 no^G3756 seed.

Mat 25:27

Mat 25:27‘Therefore, you ought to have put my money [fn]in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest.

Mat 25:28

Mat 25:28‘Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’

Mat 25:29

“For to everyone^G3956 who has^G2192, more shall be given^G1325, and he will have^G4052 an^G4052 abundance^G4052; but from the one who does not have^G2192, even^G2532 what^G3739 he does have^G2192 shall be taken^G142 away^G142.

Mat 25:30

Mat 25:30“And throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The Final Judgment

Mat 25:31

“But when^G3752 the Son^G5207 of Man^G444 comes^G2064 in His glory^G1391, and all^G3956 the angels^G32 with Him, then^G5119 He will sit^G2523 on His glorious^G1391 throne^G2362.

Mat 25:32

Mat 25:32“And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;

Mat 25:33

Mat 25:33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.

Mat 25:34

“Then^G5119 the King^G935 will say^G3004 to those^G3588 on His right^G1188, ‘Come^G1205, you who are blessed^G2127 of My Father^G3962, inherit^G2816 the kingdom^G932, which has been prepared^G2090 for you from the foundation^G2602 of the world^G2889.

Mat 25:35

Mat 25:35‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

Mat 25:36

Mat 25:36naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’

Mat 25:37

Mat 25:37“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

Mat 25:38

Mat 25:38‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?

Mat 25:39

Mat 25:39‘And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’

Mat 25:40

Mat 25:40“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

Mat 25:41

“Then^G5119 He will also^G2532 say^G3004 to those^G3588 on His left^G2176, ‘Depart^G4198 from Me, accursed^G2672 ones, into the eternal^G166 fire^G4442 which has been prepared^G2090 for the devil^G1228 and his angels^G32;

Mat 25:42

Mat 25:42for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;

Mat 25:43

Mat 25:43I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’

Mat 25:44

Mat 25:44“Then they themselves also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not [fn]take care of You?’

Mat 25:45

Mat 25:45“Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
