“The Dune universe is just so vividly realized. It leads you through an imagination of the future that is very unique. I think it’s one of the most influential science fiction works ever written. And to be part of any corner of the Dune universe is a tremendous privilege.” That’s Alison Schapker, the showrunner and executive producer of DUNE: PROPHECY, HBO’s six-episode prequel to the Dune novel and movies, which premieres Sunday on Crave. Schapker and series stars Emily Watson and Olivia Williams set up all the drama and intrigue in a story by TV critic Bill Harris for The Lede, which is also where photos are available for download.
