Ferdinand Habsburg

FIA WEC – Hypercar class, ELMS – LMP2 class

Born in 1997, Ferdinand was the first participant in our young driver program in 2015. The Austrian has won a multitude of victories and pole positions in the Euroformula Open, FIA Formula 3 and in the LMP2 class (Le Mans Prototype) at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, before making his DTM debut in 2019. After a second season in the renowned sprint series, he successfully focused on endurance racing in 2021: He was champion in the Asian Le Mans Series, won his class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and crowned his outstanding LMP2 season with the title of FIA World Champion. The current highlight of his career is his appointment as a factory driver for the Alpine Elf Endurance Team in the World Endurance Championship 2024.

Tatiana Calderón

IMSA/GTD class

Tatiana (born 1993) decided at just nine years of age that she wanted to be a professional racing driver. Having cut her teeth in karting, the Columbian has achieved her big goal in various racing series, including Super Formula Japan, FIA Formula 3, FIA Formula 2, the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), and the FIA World Endurance Championship. In 2022, she lined up in the NTT INDYCAR Series. In 2024 Tatiana is joining the IMSA SportsCar Championship in a GTD of Gradient Racing, beside American female racing legend Katherine Legge. Tatiana hopes her passion will inspire other young girls, in particular. She is passionate about making motorsport a more diverse and integrative environment on all levels.

Aliyyah Koloc

On & Off-Road

Aliyyah´s love of motorsport was handed down to her since she was born in Dubai in 2004. Her father, two-time European truck racing champion Martin Koloc. At the age of just 16, Aliyyah became the youngest ever driver winning a truck race. In 2024 at the 46th edition of the Dakar Rally, Aliyyah impressively proved that, despite her young age, she is already one of the world’s best offroad drivers. The 19-year-old Buggyra ZM Racing driver took part in the legendary competition for the second time and, for the first time, contested in the top category, the Ultimate Elite, finishing 25th overall. This season she will hit the tracks in the desert again in the W2RC Middle East Baja races as well as competing on asphalt in the 24h Series.

RAVENOL becomes an official supplier of AVL RACETECH. This partnership focuses on advanced hydrogen combustion technology for racing applications.

The heart of this collaboration is AVL RACETECH’s hydrogen combustion engine for motorsport and RAVENOL’s cutting-edge products designed to meet the extreme demands of high-performance engines.

AVL RACETECH is continuously refining their H2 RACE ICE Engine for future applications in motorsport. RAVENOL`s Racing ECO lubricating oils based on renewable raw materials help reduce CO2 emissions, as they offer a more sustainable alternative to conventional oils and improve the carbon footprint.

Finn Gehrsitz

FIA WEC/LMGT3 CLASS

Finn (born 2004) a multiple karting champion took his first steps in GT4 racing, where he immediately impressed and claimed class victories. In 2021, Finn became the youngest driver ever to make his debut in an Le Mans Prototpye (LMP3) in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. Currently he drives in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Lexus and Akkodis ASP Team in the LMGT3 class.

More than Equal

More than Equal, a data-led organization dedicated to finding and developing female driving talent, was co-founded by 13-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner David Coulthard. The More than Equal Driver Development Programme, led by a team of experts and coaches with experience developing both Olympic athletes and F1 World Champions, is supporting five high-potential female drivers from around the world, all aged 13 and 14.

Through this partnership, we aim to accelerate development by providing these young drivers with exclusive access to a guided, intensive program using best-in-class AVL driving simulators at our headquarters in Austria. Additionally, they will participate in engineering workshops designed to enhance their understanding of data and its use in collaboration with race engineers.

Supporting diversity on and off the racetrack and helping young talent enter the industry is in our DNA.

INVICTA Racing

FIA Formula 2

INVICTA Racing has been relying on the vehicle dynamics simulations from Graz since 2016. AVL RACETECH became the team’s official technical partner in 2022. The long-standing, successful collaboration in the FIA Formula 2 Championship reached a new level in 2024. For the first time, in addition to using our simulation software, the British F2 team also used AVL RACETECH’s multifunctional race testbed to characterize and optimize the gearbox and differential. The effort was rewarded: Invicta Racing and Gabriel Bortoleto won the team and driver championships in FIA F2 in 2024.

Formula 2 and 3

AVL RACETECH continues to expand its presence in international formula racing. As of this season, AIX Racing is an official technical partner of AVL RACETECH not only in Formula 3 but also in Formula 2, further expanding the collaboration. The successful German racing team is represented from Formula 4 to FIA Formula 2 and uses AVL VSM™ RACE, our sophisticated simulation software toolchain. AVL VSM™ RACE links real data and virtual simulations and enables all the details of the setup parameters to be identified and adjusted accordingly.

Inter Europol Competition

IMSA & ELMS – LMP2 class

Founded in 2010 by Kuba and Wojtek Śmiechowski, the team entered endurance racing in 2016 with prototype cars and was able to claim early success. In 2019, Inter Europol Competition extended its involvement to cover the LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype 2) class, competing there for the first time in the Le Mans 24-hour race. The team debuted in the 2021 World Endurance Championship (WEC) – the first Polish team in the history of the WEC. Since 2022 AVL RACETECH is the official technical partner of Inter Europol Competition and supports the team, among other activities, in its preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans with it`s Simulation software VSM™ RACE and race engineering services. 2023 marked the most successful season of the team with winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most prestigious event in endurance racing and claiming the 2nd place overall in the World Endurance Championship WEC.

Laura Bubenova

Laura (born in 2010) is a karting racer from Bratislava, Slovakia. At 15 years old, she has become the Slovak Vice Champion in the MINIMAX class and participated in the FIA Girls on Track, the FIA Karting Academy and the More Than Equal Driver Development Programme. She is currently racing in the Senior class at the RMC Euro Trophy and ROTAX RMC International Trophy.

Official Supplier of Vehicle Simulation Software The partnership between the FIA and AVL RACETECH is a significant step forward in the development of motorsport technology, with The FIA using AVL RACETECH`s expertise in the field of vehicle dynamics and simulation as official Vehicle Simulation Software supplier. AVL VSM™ RACE, which can be used to prepare races and optimize lap times locally or in the cloud, incorporates comprehensive and detailed models of the whole vehicle and environment. Up to 100,000 laps can be simulated within a very short time, in order to identify the optimal set-up for a race car. AVL VSM™ RACE incorporates comprehensive models of the whole car. AVL RACETECH lap-simulation expertise is utilized by the FIA across a range of championships including Formula 1, Formula E, the World Rally Championship, the World Endurance Championship and cross-country events. The software plays a pivotal role in FIA`s approach to craft technical regulations, assists the circuit homologation process and ultimately help in shaping the future of motorsport exploring new technologies or boosting the existent.

The Spanish software company etecmo® has its roots in motorsport and is specializes in professional driving simulation. etecmo® is best known for its simulation suite with the tools Universo™ and Interact™ . At the heart of the collaboration is the use of Universo™ and Interact™ in combination with AVL RACETECH´s Vehicle Simulation Software AVL VSM™ RACE – combining the advantages of both to extract the ultimate performance. Universo™, etecmo®’s simulation rendering engine, uses ray tracing technology. This means that the renderings are based on the physical properties of light and therefore produce accurate reflections, refractions, shadows, and indirect lighting, providing an ultra high fidelity visual representation of the track and its environment.AVL VSM™ RACE, which can be used to prepare races and optimize lap times locally or in the cloud, incorporates comprehensive and detailed models of the whole vehicle and environment. Up to 100,000 laps can be simulated within a very short time, in order to identify the optimal set-up for a race car. AVL VSM™ RACE incorporates comprehensive models of the whole car.The partnership provides AVL RACETECH and etecmo® with the necessary power to be leaders in the segment of DiL (Driver in the Loop) visualization and simulation for engineering tasks. The partnership between AVL RACETECH and etecmo® aims to define a new quality of simulation in motorsport.

Green Future Project

Drive Fast, Act Faster

Launched by Ferdinand Habsburg and the Green Future Project in 2021, the “Drive Fast, Act Faster” program is helping the motorsport industry become more sustainable and make racing increasingly climate-neutral. As well as the general reduction of emissions, the program also offsets any remaining emissions by preserving biodiverse ecosystems. AVL RACETECH is supporting this goal by offsetting the complete CO2 footprint of its brand ambassadors for the entire racing season.
