Garazi Murua signs one-year extension
The captain will celebrate a decade as a Lioness after signing a new deal
Athletic Club Women defender Garazi Murua has signed a one-year contract, which includes an option to extend the deal for a further season.
The 28-year-old defender will complete a tenth season and add to her total of 178 official appearances.
"We have a very high quality team, very young and with a lot of potential. For me it is an honour to be part of this transformation and to be able to help these players consolidate their place in Athletic's first team, and teach them what it means to play here," said Murua.
The captain has missed this season as she continues her recovery from a back surgery in March. It is hoped that she will be able to start working with the squad during this upcoming pre-season.
