Sony Pictures Networks India acquires exclusive broadcasting rights for Roland-Garros » PACA’s economic and political letter

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights to Roland-Garros for the period 2022–2024.

This three-year contract gives SPN exclusive TV and digital rights for Roland-Garros.

Sony Pictures Network India will broadcast the tournament on its sports channels in India and the Indian subcontinent, namely Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives. It will also offer live streaming on its premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

Sony Sports Network had great success with the Australian Open, a Grand Slam renowned for generating the biggest audiences in India. The 2022 edition attracted 22 million viewers and users, which is a record audience in recent years. Drawing on its experience in broadcasting tennis tournaments, SPN intends to give similar coverage to Roland-Garros, whose 2022 edition will take place from May 16 to June 5.

From May 22, 2022, Sony Pictures Networks India will broadcast Roland-Garros 2022 continuously, with a special spotlight on prime time matches for Indian tennis fans.
