Introducción: El repositorio disciplinario RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) provee acceso a un amplio número de preprints, artículos de revistas, libros, capítulos de libros y software sobre la temática de las ciencias económicas y administrativas. Este repositorio agrega registros bibliográficos elaborados por diferentes universidades, institutos, editores y autores que trabajan de forma colaborativa siguiendo normas de organización documental. Objetivos: En este trabajo, principalmente, se identifica y analiza el funcionamiento de RePEc, lo que incluye la organización de los archivos, el cual se caracteriza por el uso del protocolo Guildford y las plantillas de metadatos ReDIF (Research Documentation Information Format) propias para la descripción documental. Metodología: Parte de esta investigación se estudió teóricamente en la literatura; otra parte se llevó a cabo mediante la observación de una serie de características visibles en la página web de RePEc y en los archivos de una revista que colabora en este repositorio.
Resultados: Se encontró que el repositorio es un proyecto colaborativo
descentralizado, además brinda varios servicios derivados del análisis de metadatos. Conclusiones: Se concluye que las plantillas ReDIF y el protocolo de comunicación Guildford son elementos clave para organizar los registros en RePEc, además existe una similitud con los metadatos de Dublin Core.

Today world is changing rapidly, all professional are eager to know more

24 hours only. With the changing in every field, the change in the field of libraries is very
admirable. User come to the library but don’t have much time to search for document
manually therefore this problem was also short out by the application of electronic
technologies in libraries. Application of information communication technology in library
have provided enough opportunities for e-resource development and disseminate it in the
manner that their users proffered.
The libraries in the 21st century are confronted with the issue involving constantly
increasing information overload, changing pattern of e-resource management, new and
growing technologies, content resource management, specialized needs and expectation of
users are very challenging in the present scenario. E-resource play an important role in
libraries. These include special academic, and public libraries throughout the world. In recent
past, Librarian as well as publisher thought E-resource can be managed very easily. But in
reality it is not so. It has become very difficult to manage the E-resource as there are
different from that of managing the print collection. Effective E-resource management
demands more staff attention and time rather than management of more traditional materials.
Electronic resource management requires higher skill levels including greater technical,
trouble shooting and also problem solving during content delivery. This paper explained all

Social informatics is the body of research that examines the design, uses, and consequences of information and communication technologies in ways that take into account their interaction with institutional and cultural contexts. This article serves as a brief introduction to social informatics. Examples such as computer networks, scientific communication via electronic journals, and public access to the Internet are used to illustrate key ideas from social informatics research. Some of the key themes include the importance of social contexts and work processes, sociotechnical networks, public access to information, and social infrastructure for computing support. The article draws upon 25 years of systematic analytical and critical research about information technology and social change.

Research concerning computer hackers generally focuses on how to stop them; far less attention is given to the texts they create. Phrack, an online hacker journal that has run almost continuously since 1985, is an important touchstone in hacker literature, widely read by both hackers and telephone and network security professionals. But beyond its instantiation as a compendium of illicit technical knowledge, Phrack was, above all, a rhetorical publication. The files in each issue of Phrack created a shared rhetorical vision concerning the place of the hacker underground within society and in relation to law enforcement officials, as well as what it means to be a hacker. This essay examines two important events in the evolution of the hacker movement through the lens of Phrack—Operation Sundevil and the arrest of Kevin Mitnick. How these events were framed in Phrack both shaped and reflected emerging shifts in hacker collective identity.

Menginginkan suatu interaksi satu dengan lainnya hanya dengan mengetik ataupun bersuara.
Dari situlah mulai terbentuknya Jaringan Sosial dengan media internet yang memungkinkan penggunanya untuk berinteraksi meskipun di benua yang berbeda, saling bertukar informasi, berbagi berbagai macam konten, dan hal lainnya.

With the aim of designing and implementing a web-based article submission management system for academic research papers, several international models such as Elsevier Editorial System and ICOCI, International Conference on Computing and Informatics, are studied and analyzed. Through this analysis, an open access web-based article submission and peer review system for Journal of University of Zakho (JUOZ) is employed. This kind of systems is not only capable of solving issues such as complex manuscript management, time-delays in the process of reviewing, and loss of manuscripts that occurs often in off-line paper submission and review processes, but also is capable to build the foundation for e-journal publications. Consequently, an active and rapid scholarly communication medium can be made. The implementation and deployment of this system can improve the rank of the university and the reputation and the globalization of science and technology research journals.

The narrative of internet news is still mainly textual even when information comes from different previous media (press, radio, TV) or it is an “online native” cybermedia. Also its design is more related to a press one rather than an audiovisual one, bearing in mind internet potentialities. Only when we paid attention to infographics or some kind of specials, we could appreciate clearly an innovation in online journalistic genres. We propose a methodology to analyze online news from different type of cybermedia: only online and previous ones come from press, radio or TV. Methological approach will be based on content analysis and Information Architecture and Visualization, Interactive Design, Usability and Genre will be applied as main academic principles. The aim of this paper is to present advantages and disadvantages of a selection of current reference and digital objects linking models and projects and to explore a possibility for their implementation in the Croatian Internet space too meet the needs of academic community members for easier discovery and delivery of scientific works regardless of their format or storage location.

Perkembangan perpustakaan digital dan layanan digital di Indonesia cukup pesat, terutama di perpustakaan perguruan tinggi. Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi adalah salah satu jenis perpustakaan yang memiliki peran dan fungsi akademis, karena mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran dan pusat ilmu pengetahuan. Salah satu layanan yang berkembang saat ini adalah layanan digital dalam bentuk e-jurnal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) bagaimana usaha yang dilakukan perpustakaan UI dalam memenuhi kebutuhan layanan digital di lingkungan civitas akademik UI, (2) mengetahui tingkat kepuasan pengguna layanan digital perpustakaan UI, dan (3) mengetahui kebutuhan pemustaka terhadap layanan digital perpustakaan UI. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dasar (basic research) menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk mengetahui kualitas layanan digital di Perpustakaan UI, serta meng-observasi layanan referensi digital yang dilaksanakan oleh Perpustakaan UI. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan survei dan kuisioner kepada 132 mahasiswa UI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan; 1) PUI sebagai salah satu perpustakaan perguruan tinggi telah memaksimalkan layanan digital, terutama bahan referensi digital e-jurnal. PUI melanggan sebanyak 39 database online terakreditasi ditambah database e-jurnal hasil penelitian civitas akademik UI. Selain itu, PUI juga menyediakan akses skripsi, thesis, dan disertasi dalam bentuk digital. User Interface laman PUI (http:lontar.ui.ac.id dan http://lib.ui.ac.id) menurut mahasiswa UI sudah bagus (58%  dan 47%). Useablility fitur kedua laman infterface di atas, menurut mahasiswa UI, sudah baik (45% dan 49%).  2) Sebagian besar mahasiswa UI menyatakan layanan e-jurnal PUI sudah baik (44%). Tingkat kepuasan terendah hanya menunjukkan angka (16%). Bahkan 12% mahasiswa mengatakan layanan e-Jurnal sangat baik. 3) Sebagian besar pemustaka masih mengharapkan peningkatan layanan e-jurnal, terutama penambahan kualitas dan kuantitas e-jurnal yang dilanggan. Selain itu, mahasiswa UI juga membutuhkan sosialisasi dan pelatihan seputar akses dan penggunaan layanan e-jurnal PUI.

The present study investigates the potential of the supplementation of the seaweed Ulva lactuca, as a dietary
additive ingredient in fish feed, to improve the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) growth performance, feed
utilization and carcass composition. The experiment was conducted in the Deroua fish farming facilities (Beni
Mellal, Morocco), on male Nile tilapia of a mean weight of 50 ± 1g. Three experimental diets composed of 32% of dietary protein were prepared using dried algae meal ingredient incorporated at levels of 0% (control), 5% and 10% of fish feed. By the end of the experiment, fish growth parameters, feed utilization, somatic indexes and carcass composition were evaluated. Fish fed on 5% seaweed diet tended to have higher growth performance than those fed to the control and 10% seaweed diet (p>0.05). Feed utilization by fish seemed not to be affected by seaweed meal rates change (p>0.05). The viscerosomatic (VSI), hepatosomatic (HSI) and gonadosomatic (GSI) indexes showed no significant difference between diets. Crude protein and crude lipid contents in the fish carcass
were not statistically significant (p>0.05), whereas significant differences (p<0.05) in ash content was observed between treatments. In addition, Ulva lactuca meal can be included as supplement ingredient in the diet without impairing growth performance, feed utilization and body composition of Nile Tilapia. The vision and some of the work of the Chemical Informatics and Cyberinfrastructure Collaboratory at Indiana University are described, which we base around the core concepts of e-Science and cyberinfrastructure that have proven successful in other fields. Our chemical informatics cyberinfrastructure is realized by building a flexible, generic infrastructure for cheminformatics tools and databases, exporting &quot;best of breed&quot; methods as easily-accessible web APIs for cheminformaticians, scientists, and researchers in other disciplines, and hosting a unique chemical informatics education program aimed at scientists and cheminformatics practitioners in academia and industry.

Following an overview of the historical context of copyright legislation, this paper discusses copyright within the scholarly communication process and the role of libraries in providing access to copyright materials in the digital age. The argument is made that the balance of “rights” and “exceptions” that has been maintained for 300 years needs to be reconsidered for scholarly communications, such as theses and dissertations, as well as for articles in electronic journals. This type of information is fact‐based, often resulting from public funds, and is part of the intellectual heritage of academic institutions, and so is very different to creative works within the entertainment industries.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between electronic journal downloads and citations and whether online electronic resource usage can be adopted as an alternative to citation for evaluation of scholarly discourse. Design/methodology/approach A consolidated 16 publishers’ COUNTER usage data of UGC-Infonet members was collected from INFLIBNET Centre. The usage was meticulously filtered from UGC-subscribed journals and institutional subscriptions. The quantitative data were analysed to establish the relationship between download, impact factor (IF) and price. Multiple regression analysis was used to assess the influence of price and IF on usage and to predict the usage when they are known and the threshold for significance was set at p &lt; 0.05. Findings There exists a relationship between IF and downloads of journals in UGC-Infonet. El arte de comunicar, de no sólo presentar los contenidos de manera eficaz para el usuario según los parámetros de los soportes fijos y móviles para internet; sino, además, interactuar con él en un nuevo paradigma comunicativo donde las redes sociales cobran cada vez más relevancia en el marketing de una empresa, configuran un escenario de amplios retos para el diseño de información periodística.Desde disciplinas como la arquitectura, diseño, ecología y visualización de la información, la interactividad, navegabilidad y usabilidad así como criterios herencia del diseño gráfico y audiovisual, se ofrecen una serie de directrices a seguir, en su mayoría, de breve trayectoria académica en su aplicación a internet.

Elaboramos, en este marco convulso de crisis económica mundial, de experimentación en el sector, de deseada convergencia empresarial (digital) y diversificación multiplataforma; una propuesta de análisis metodológico para los nodos iniciales, o portadas, de los cibermedios para el soporte ordenador en internet, basada en una ficha descriptivo-interpretativa que se centra en el estudio de caso o corpus cerrado a cada medio de manera individual y se abre en una comparativa posterior entre los distintos modelos.El nodo inicial completo configura una unidad sintáctica y semántica en su conjunto desde donde, a través del valor atribuido a cada categoría de la ficha deanálisis y las relaciones que se desprenden de las mismas –sintaxis-, elaboramos una lista de características y patrones de cambio –semántica-.

El citado modelo metodológico se aplicó en los cibermedios Elcorreo.com, Elpais.com, Elmundo.es, Lavanguardia.es, Elperiodico.com, Guardian.co.uk, Lemonde.fr, Bild.de, Nytimes.com, Oglobo.oglobo.com, Clarin.com, Reforma.com, Emol.com y Asahi.com durante dos meses mientras llevábamos a cabo nuestra tesis doctoral 'Diseño de nodos iniciales en cibermedios: un estudio comparativo'.

La misma ficha se adaptó, posteriormente, para realizar una aproximación al estado de la cuestión respecto a las revistas online -webzines, ezines, cyberzines, hyperzines, entre otras denominaciones-; ejemplo de innovadoras propuestas respecto a la presentación de los contenidos y su jerarquización. La experimentación llevada a cabo por otros medios surgidos ex profeso para internet o desde diferentes ámbitos de la comunicación, en especial, la expresión artística –representada, por ejemplo, a través de la “Generación Flash” o el “NetArt”- han impulsado asimismo el desarrollo de nuevas técnicas así como su difusión a través del creciente auge de las redes sociales.

Se realiza una aproximación al concepto y panorama actual de las revistas electrónicas en Cuba y el resto del mundo. Se presentan los resultados de una encuesta a usuarios de cuatro centros especializados de información de la provincia de Camagüey con el objetivo de recoger criterios sobre el uso de las revistas electrónicas. Se solicitaron aspectos generales para caracterizar la muestra y la opinión sobre el tema en matriz DAFO (Debilidades, Amenazas, Fortalezas, Oportunidades). Los resultados de la encuesta mostraron el alto grado de desconocimiento que existe sobre las revistas electrónicas y, por consecuencia, su poco uso.
