Australian spiny mountain crayfish (Euastacus, Parastacidae) and their ecotosymbiotic temnocephalan flatworms (Temnocephalida, Platyhelminthes) may have co-occurred and interacted through deep time, during a period of major environmental change. Therefore, reconstructing the history of their association is of evolutionary, ecological, and conservation significance. Here, time-calibrated Bayesian phylogenies of Euastacus species and their temnocephalans (Temnohaswellia and Temnosewellia) indicate near-synchronous diversifications from the Cretaceous. Statistically significant cophylogeny correlations between associated clades suggest linked evolutionary histories. However, there is a stronger signal of codivergence and greater host specificity in Temnosewellia, which co-occurs with Euastacus across its range. DNA computing is a new computing paradigm which uses bio-molecular as information storage media and biochemical tools as information processing operators. It has shows many successful and promising results for various applications. Since DNA reactions are probabilistic reactions, it can cause the different results for the same situations, which can be regarded as errors in the computation. The effect of pH on the buoyant density of the complexes of Ag+ with DNA has been studied using 3H-labeled human DNA and several bacterial DNAs to determine the conditions necessary for the maximum resolution of compositional heterogeneity. In neutral CS2SO4 density gradients, Ag+ complexes with (G - C)-rich components are always denser than those with (A - T)-rich components, since (G - C)rich DNAs have a larger affinity for Ag+ than (A - T)-rich DNAs and their complexes are denser than (A - T)-rich complexes. In alkaline (pH greater than 9) CS2SO4 gradients, the buoyant density of the Ag+ - DNA complex is not a simple function of base composition.
