Academic Slavery

1 ACADEMIC SLAVERY Do not drink water in this place They will strangle you with weed Do not breathe air in this endless regret Or you’ll have to pay for it Do not dwell in this place There is no loyalty under your feet The fool climbs up a tree He cuts it down with an axe and dies a corpse The fly goes into a hole In the coffin of mutiny In this place of madness Crazy grows with sand Intelligence is trampled on by goats Academic crime shows no downturn Vice and virtue are confused Earth produces arid minds That write barren papers to find recognition There is no torch in this land of darkness The blind stones greet slavery. G. Samigorganroodi, March 2013
