"TKO" is an episode from the first season of the science fiction television series Babylon 5.

Synopsis

As Susan Ivanova comes to terms with her father's death (see Born to the Purple), an old friend of Garibaldi's comes to the station to participate in a dangerous alien martial arts contest.

Garibaldi arrests two aliens who are trying to buy illegal drugs (called "slappers" because the drugs are absorbed from a skin patch), one of the aliens is about to stab him, but then an old friend of Garibaldi's punches the man who was about to stab him.

Meanwhile Susan's father's friend Rabbi Koslov, comes to her and tries to convince her to sit shiva for her father, which includes going over her head to Sinclair. That last move is particularly upsetting to Susan who consider an unwanted intrusion in her life like her father would have done.

Garibaldi's friend, Walker Smith, tells him that since he can no longer box commercially due to being "framed like a picture," he is going to compete in the mutai, a savage alien fighting arena. The muta-do, or head of the mutai aboard, will not let him compete. Another alien also says that if he or any other human competes in the mutai, they will get trouble.

TKO (Knock You Out)

"TKO (Knock You Out)" is a song written by Lars Erlandsson, Fredrik Lenander and Paul Rein, and performed by the Swedish pop girl group, Bubbles at Melodifestivalen 2003. From the fourth semifinal in the town of Sundsvall, the song made it through Tittarnas val, to the finals inside the Stockholm Globe Arena, where it ended up ninth. The song was also released as a single., peaking at 7th position at the Swedish singles chart.

The song received a Svensktoppen test on 6 April 2003, but failed to enter chart.

"TKO" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake for his fourth studio album, The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 (2013). It was written and produced by Timberlake, Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley and Jerome "J-Roc" Harmon, with additional writing from James Fauntleroy and a sample of Barry White's "Somebody's Gonna off the Man". The song was distributed on September 20, 2013 by RCA Records, as the second single from The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2. A remix of the track by rappers J. Cole, ASAP Rocky and Pusha T, known as the "Black Friday Remix", was also released. The lyrics use boxing metaphors to explain how somebody being knocked out feels to them when they see their ex out with another guy.

"TKO" failed to crack the top 40 on most international charts, excluding the US Billboard Hot 100 where it reached number 36. However, the song sold well enough in Canada to be certified Gold by Music Canada. Reviews of the song were mixed, with some finding a track as a modern update from Timberlake's previous music, while others found it underwhelming. The seven-minute official accompanying music video was released in October 2013, and stars Elvis Presley's granddaughter Riley Keough as Timberlake's love interest.

TKO (band)

TKO was a hard rock and heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, which was active between 1977 and 2001. The group's lead vocalist and only consistent member was Brad Sinsel.

Biography

Sinsel, a native of Yakima, Washington, got his start in rock in the early 1970s in Ze Whiz Kidz, a flamboyant, influential glam rock band that opened a Seattle show by the New York Dolls in 1974. Eventually, he joined a reformed version of the band Mojo Hand which featured co-founding members Mark Seidenverg (bass) and Darryl Siguenza (drums), along with former Whiz Kidz guitarist Rick Pierce. With the addition of Sinsel and Tony Bortko (guitar, keyboards) the band became TKO. Represented by managers who also worked with platinum sellers Heart, the band signed a major label recording contract in 1977, though it would be more than a year before the first album would appear.

The group released their Mike Flicker produced debut Let It Roll on the Infinity Records division of MCA Records in early 1979; it went on to sell roughly 150,000 copies. During this time the group had a type of glam rock image and fans compared their music favorably with The Who. TKO toured the U.S. extensively, including shows with the Kinks, Cheap Trick, AC/DC, Van Halen as well as Heart and made their way to Japan where they appeared at Japan Jam in 1979, with new rhythm section Evan Sheeley (bass) and Bill Durham (drums), both formerly with Yakima act Water Closet, in tow. TKO was unable to deliver a follow-up album when Infinity went out of business and was absorbed by MCA in the spring of 1980.
