Chi (mythology)

Chi (Chinese: 螭; pinyin: chī; Wade–Giles: ch'ih) means either "a hornless dragon" or "a mountain demon" (namely, chimei 螭魅) in Chinese mythology. Hornless dragons were a common motif in ancient Chinese art, and the chiwen 螭吻 (lit. "hornless-dragon mouth") was an Imperial roof decoration in traditional Chinese architecture.

CHInoyTV

CHInoyTV or CHI FCTV (Traditional Chinese: 菲華電視台, Simplified Chinese: 菲华电视台, Pinyin: Fēi huá diànshìtái, English: Filipino Chinese Television, Hokkien: Hui Hua Tien Si Tai, Cantonese: Fei Wah Tin Si Toi), is a weekly television program of Net 25, with Fil-Chi Media Productions as its production venture, that airs every Sunday at 10:30 - 11:30 am (02:30-03:30 UTC). It also airs its replays every Tuesday at 11:00 pm - 12:00 mn (15:00-16:00 UTC), and Saturday at 10:30 - 11:30 am (02:30-03:30 UTC).

CHInoyTV traces its roots to Chi which was premiered on IBC-13 in 2009. CHInoyTV is the first Filipino-Chinese Television show to air in HDTV technology by Net 25.

On its third season, CHInoyTV unveiled its new logo, welcomes new set of hosts, and introduced new segments. During the third season, CHInoyTV also launched the first reality business show on free TV dubbed as CHInoypreneur Challenge.

The show mainly uses three languages; namely: English, Filipino, and Mandarin Chinese (however with English subtitles) during CHInoy Plus.

Mask (film)

Mask is a 1985 American drama film directed by Peter Bogdanovich, starring Cher, Sam Elliott, and Eric Stoltz. Dennis Burkley and Laura Dern are featured in supporting roles. Cher received the 1985 Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actress. The film is based on the life and early death of Roy L. "Rocky" Dennis, a boy who suffered from craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, an extremely rare disorder known commonly as lionitis due to the disfiguring cranial enlargements that it causes. Mask won the Academy Award for Best Makeup while Cher and Stoltz received Golden Globe nominations for their performances.

Plot

In 1978 Azusa, California, Rocky Dennis (Eric Stoltz), who suffers from a skull deformity, is accepted without question by his freewheeling biker mother's boyfriends, his "extended motorcycle family," and his maternal grandparents, who share his love of baseball card collecting; but is treated with fear, pity, awkwardness, and teasing by those unaware of his humanity, humor, and intelligence. Rocky's mother, Florence "Rusty" Dennis (Cher), is determined to give Rocky as normal a life as possible, in spite of her own wild ways as a member of the Turks biker gang, as well as her strained relationship with her parents. She fights for Rocky's inclusion in a mainstream junior high school, and confronts a principal who would rather classify Rocky as mentally retarded and relegate him to a special education school, despite the fact that his condition hasn't affected his intelligence.

The Mask is a fictional character who first appeared in the DC Comics' universe in the Wonder Woman series as a masked villain. She has the same name as a male character from the Dark Horse Comics whose secret identity is Stanley Ipkiss.

Context

The Mask appeared in one of the last issues penned by Charles Moulton and published during Moulton's lifetime. (Other adventures written by Moulton that had been stockpiled continued to be published after his death, and still others were written by his family and published under his name.)

The appearance of the Mask -- a tormented woman who developed a split personality which caused havoc by trapping people in fatally rigged masks that resemble S/M tools -- draws on themes of psychology and bondage that recurred throughout Moulton's writings.
