Street Fighter III

Street Fighter III: New Generation (ストリートファイターⅢ NEW GENERATION) is a fighting game in Capcom's Street Fighter series, originally released as coin-operated arcade game in 1997. Street Fighter III was produced for the CD-ROM-based CP System III hardware, which allowed for more elaborate 2D graphics than the CPS II-based Street Fighter Alpha games (the previous incarnation of the Street Fighter series), while revamping many of the play mechanics. The game, which was designed as a direct sequel to Street Fighter II, initially discarded every previous character except for Ryu and Ken (hence the "New Generation" subtitle), introducing an all-new roster led by Alex. Likewise, a new antagonist named Gill took over M. Bison's role from the previous games as the new boss character.

Street Fighter III was followed by two updates: Street Fighter III 2nd Impact in 1997 and Street Fighter III 3rd Strike in 1999. A single home version of the game was released for the Dreamcast in a two-in-one compilation titled Street Fighter III: Double Impact, which also included 2nd Impact.

Makoto (game)

Makoto is a game invented in Colorado in 1992. It is played in the Makoto Arena. In 2002, Makoto USA, Inc. (www.makoto-usa.com) purchased all intellectual property from the original designers and have been improving/redesigning it ever since. The current Makoto Arena bears little resemblance to the original design with the exception of the three towers and triangular design. The current Makoto Arena utilizes a Windows-based computer to control the lights and sounds of the game as well as to track scores.

Playing Court and Equipment

A Makoto court consists of three metal beams arranged in an equilateral triangle on the floor. At each corner of the triangle there is a six-foot-tall column, equipped with a speaker. Each column has twelve targets which have pressure sensors. There are optional floor targets that can add four more targets to each column for a total of 48 targets in the arena.

Game play

The game is extremely simple: listen for the tone, look for the light, hit the target. The game can be set at varying degrees of difficulty where the targets will stay on for as long as ten seconds down to as brief as 3/4ths of a second. The goal is for every player to have a positive experience with the game so that they will be encouraged to try again to beat their previous score. Patterns are random and the current, standard game will have only one target light on a tower at a time. The game scores accuracy (how many targets were hit before they "timed out") and reaction time.

Makoto (Street Fighter)

Makoto (まこと, Makoto) is a fictional character in the Street Fighter series. She made her first appearance in 1999's Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. In the series, she is a young Japanese woman raised from the Tosa Province of Japan who utilizes her family's dojo teachings of Rindo-kan karate as her fighting style.

Makoto wears a white dōgi and a yellow hachimaki around her neck, intended to demonstrate her speed and trajectory. Voiced by Makoto Tsumura in Japanese, Makoto speaks in Tosa dialect, which was accomplished by the development team hiring a professional to supervise the sound development. In 3rd Strike, her father Masaru (マサル) was the former master of the Rindōkan karate dojo. However, after his death, attendance dwindled, and with her brother pursuing a career in business, she is forced to increase the dojo's popularity.

Appearances

Makoto is a young female karate master from the rural Tosa Province of Japan introduced in Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. She returns as a playable character in Super Street Fighter IV in which her father Masaru (マサル) was the previous master of the once prosperous Rindōkan (竜胆館) karate dojo, which has greatly dwindled in attendance ever since the death of Makoto's father. With her brother having chosen not to follow the path of a martial artist by focusing more on the career of a business man, Makoto is left with the sole task of reviving her school's popularity. In her ending, Makoto becomes a young martial arts prodigy after defeating Ryu and numerous other fighters, attracting countless numbers of students interested in learning the art of the Rindōkan school. In Super Street Fighter IV, Fei-Long acts as Makoto's rival.

Makoto (musician)

Makoto Shimizu (清水誠, Shimizu Makoto) (born 1977 in Tokyo, Japan), professionally known as Makoto (マコト, Makoto), is a Japanese drum and bass musician, DJ and actor. Among other distinctives of Makoto's musical style, a heavy influence of 1970s-era soul, funk and jazz fusion can be heard throughout the vast majority of his repertoire.

Career

Inspired by LTJ Bukem's Logical Progression album and Goldie's Timeless, he began to experiment with his own drum and bass music compositions. His unique style received the attention of LTJ Bukem and his Good Looking Records label, and Makoto was later featured on several of LTJ Bukem's mix CDs.

Makoto's first studio album Human Elements was released on Good Looking in 2003. His second studio album, Believe In My Soul, was released on the same label in 2007. He had also recorded a live album with frequent touring partner MC Deeizm for the label's Progression Sessions series of live mixes.

Makoto's latest album, Souled Out, was released in Japan on 5 October 2011 and worldwide on 10 October 2011 by Makoto's physical label Human Elements and on his digital download only label Human Elements HE:Digital.

Makoto (wrestler)

Makoto (真琴, Makoto, born September 26, 1989) is a Japanese professional wrestler. Trained by Emi Sakura, Makoto made her debut for her Ice Ribbon promotion in July 2006. During the next five years, Makoto went on to win Ice Ribbon's top title, the ICE×60 Championship, once and the International Ribbon Tag Team Championship twice, before transferring over to the Smash promotion in August 2011. She remained with Smash until March 2012, when the promotion folded. The following month, Makoto was announced as part of the roster of the new Wrestling New Classic (WNC) promotion. In March 2013, Makoto became the second WNC Women's Champion. In January 2014, Makoto made Reina Joshi Puroresu her second home promotion in addition to WNC. Reina became her primary home promotion after WNC shut down in June 2014. She is a former two-time Reina World Tag Team Champion.
