Night & Day (album)

Night & Day is the third studio album by Canadian recording artist Keshia Chanté. The album is her first release under Tanjola Brand management Inc and Universal Music Group. Recording sessions for the album began in 2007, a year after her 2006 release, 2U, under Sony Music Canada.

The album is a duo-album, with the 'Night' side (tracks 1-7) being dance-pop and the 'Day' side (tracks 8-14) being R&B. This is the first album that Keshia controlled the creative side of the album, writing 10 out of 14 songs and executive producing

Background

Keshia's previous album 2U (2006) was a commercial success and received generally favorable reviews from most music critics. The album featured 4 singles—including the radio airplay Top 10 single "Been Gone". The album was failed to achieve the success as her debut album, "Keshia Chanté", which was certified Gold by the CRIA. After the release of the third single, Fallen, Chanté refused to finish promoting her album to its full potential because of "dirty label politics" infuriating her to ask to be released from her record label. After a few months, her wish was granted and she was released from Sony BMG Canada.

Keshia Chanté (born Keshia Chanté Harper; June 16, 1988) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, television personality, actress, and philanthropist. She hosted the #1 Music Television show 106 & Park with Bow Wow

She is known in Canada as a "teen star" having released her first song at the age of 14, released by major record label Sony Music Canada in 2003.

Chante has garnered numerous awards and accolades. She is a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) winner & six-time nominee. She is the youngest Juno winner, earning the award in 2004, at age 16. She has won 5 UMAC Awards & 2 radio awards. She was given a star on the Brampton Walk of Fame for her achievements in Canadian Music & Film.

Chante has had numerous #1 singles on Canadian Radio, having earned 2 SOCAN #1 Awards for her songwriting efforts. She went #1 on the Billboard Charts in Japan for "Table Dancer". Chante has had 8 singles hitting the Top Ten charts on Canadian Radio, with songs Shook, Unpredictable, Bad Boy, Does He Love Me?, Been Gone, 2U, Fallen & Table Dancer

Night & Day (live album)

Night & Day is a limited edition vinyl release by Irish singer-songwriter Gemma Hayes.

The vinyl was released in March 2014 and features ten unique live recordings taken from her live shows at Dublin's Olympia Theatre & Crawdaddy and London's St Giles-in-the-Fields recorded during 2012.

The vinyl release was part of her 2013-2014 Pledge Music campaign in support of her fifth studio album Bones + Longing.

Background

Following years of touring off the back of four albums and a number of EPs; on 21 November 2012 Gemma Hayes confirmed she planned to record her 9 December performance at Dublin's Olympia Theatre and planned to release the recordings. The initial plan was to release the album in early 2013 but this was shelved as the artist decided to produce a covers EP. By 22 April 2013 Hayes confirmed through an email to fans she hoped to release a special limited vinyl featuring these live recordings. Each limited edition vinyl is numbered and signed by the artist. Hayes' fans were asked to submit any live performances they may have recorded during previous tours and the possibility they could be used on the LP. On 16 August 2013 through her website it was confirmed Hayes had launchedPledge Music campaign. She confirmed the limited vinyl release titled 'Night & Day' would help assist with the production of her fifth studio album. On 31 October 2013 the track listing for the album was revealed.

Day (automobile)

The Day Utility was an automobile manufactured in Detroit, Michigan by the Day Automobile Company from 1911-14. The Day used a four-cylinder, 30 horsepower (22 kW) engine and shaft drive. Removal of the rear seat and doors allowed the car to be converted from a five-seater touring car to a light truck in one minute. As a truck, the Day was able to carry up to 1,000 lb (450 kg) in a 36-inch (910 mm) by 96-inch (2,400 mm) cargo space. The rear seat could be lifted away by triggering two spring locks. The Day had an advertised price of $950US.
