Season (band)

Season were an English rock band from Birmingham.

Name

After the band had their first show booked for 14 Dec 1998 (Matt's 18th birthday, by coincidence) they had no name to promote the show with. Looking into his college bag, Matt pulled out a CD by Northern Irish rockers 'Ash', called 'Trailer'. The 1st track on it was called Season. They also used the font for the band logo. Before deciding on this name, they flirted with names such as: Bomb (a 'Bush' song from the '16stone' album), Flirt, Anavrin ('Nirvana' backwards).

History

Formation and early years: 1997–2005

Matt and Gary Steeles met in school in 1996, with a keen common interest in Nirvana, they began to hang out and talk about how cool it would be to be in a band. They started 'Anavrin' just before their exams in 1997, with Gary teaching Matt how to play the guitar, and Gary taking up bass. Later in 1997, mutual school friend Simon Hartland joined on guitar - he being the person who had gotten Matt into rock music over the previous couple of years. The 3 looked for a drummer, and eventually did 2 gigs with session drummer Paul Wall.

Following the collapse of Middlesbrough Ironopolis and the resignation of Northwich Victoria, three new teams were admitted to the Second Division, bringing it to 16 teams. These new teams were Bury, Leicester Fosse and Burton Wanderers.

Tube (container)

A tube is a soft squeezable container which can be used for thick liquids such as adhesive, caulking, ointment, and toothpaste. Basically, a tube is a cylindrical, hollow piece with a round or oval profile, made of plastic, paperboard, or aluminum. Both ends of this tube are treated differently during the manufacturing process and filling. In general, on one end of the tube body there is a round orifice, which can be closed by different caps and closures. The orifice can be shaped in many different ways. Plastic nozzles in various styles and lengths are just one good example.

To attach caps and closures, in most cases a thread is tapped onto the opening structure. Furthermore, something all aluminium tubes have in common is that the other open end is folded several times after the contents have been added. The tube is thus hermetically sealed and nearly germ-free due to the high temperatures during the production process. Furthermore, it is possible to coat the inside of the tube with special coatings to prevent the material from reacting with the contents.

Tube (2003 film)

Tube (Hangul: 튜브; RR: Tubeu) is a 2003 South Korean action thriller film directed by Beak Woon-hak (or Baek Woon-hak). The film features police officer Jay (Kim Suk-hoon) who is a subway police officer who spends his days reminiscing over his lost lover. The pickpocket Kay (Bae Doona) becomes infatuated with Jay and tips him off about the government assassin Bishop (Park Sang-min) hijacking a subway car. Both Jay and Kay find themselves in the target car when the Bishop makes his move.

Plot

Detective Jang Do-joon (Kim Suk-hoon) who does not know the meaning of giving up, is hot on the trail of Kang Gi-taek, a deadly terrorist. Kang Gi-taek (Park Sang-min) was an elite secret agent for the government's intelligence agency before getting tossed out for assassinating a key figure.

On the day of the new mayor's official visit to the subway, Kang Gi-taek hijacks the train and begins a full-scale act of terror. Pickpocket girl Song Yin-gyung (Bae Doona), who senses what is going on, quickly contacts Detective Jang Do-joon. The greatest act of terrorism in history, with the lives of 13 million citizens held hostage—the showdown begins between an out-of-control terrorist and a determined detective who is on the verge of life and death.
