Cuteness

Cuteness is a subjective term describing a type of attractiveness commonly associated with youth and appearance, as well as a scientific concept and analytical model in ethology, first introduced by Konrad Lorenz. Lorenz proposed the concept of baby schema (Kindchenschema), a set of facial and body features, that make a creature appear "cute" and activate ("release") in others the motivation to care for it. Cuteness may be ascribed to people as well as things that are regarded as attractive or charming.

Juvenile traits and cuteness

Doug Jones, a visiting scholar in anthropology at Cornell University, said that the proportions of facial features change with age due to changes in hard tissue and soft tissue, and Jones said that these "age-related changes" cause juvenile animals to have the "characteristic 'cute' appearance" of proportionately smaller snouts, higher foreheads and larger eyes than their adult counterparts. In terms of hard tissue, Jones said that the neurocranium grows a lot in juveniles while the bones for the nose and the parts of the skull involved in chewing food only reach maximum growth later. In terms of soft tissue, Jones said that the cartilaginous tissues of the ears and nose continue to grow throughout a person's lifetime, starting at age twenty-five the eyebrows descend on the "supraorbital rim" from a position above the supraorbital rim to a position below it, the "lateral aspect of the eyebrows" sags with age, making the eyes appear smaller, and the red part of the lips gets thinner with age due to loss of connective tissue.

Before I'll Die is the second studio album by Polish band Blog 27, which was released on 18 April 2008.

Album information

All the songs on the album were written and co-produced by the lead singer and co-founder of the band - Tola Szlagowska. The first single promoting the album was "Cute (I'm Not Cute)" which became a huge hit in Poland. Music from Before I'll Die was featured in a popular Polish TV series 39 i pół, aired on major TV station TVN, in which Tola played one of the key characters.

Cute, stylized as ℃-ute (キュート, Kyūto), is a Japanese idol girl group, consisting of five members. Cute is part of Hello! Project, produced by Tsunku, who also writes almost all the group's songs.

Cute made its major debut in 2007 and that year won the Japan Record Award for Best New Artist. In 2008, the group was nominated for the main Japan Record Award, the Grand Prix, its song being named one of the year's best songs. As of May 2013, all of the group's major-label singles have debuted in the top 10 of the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.

Musical style

Practically all the group's works are written and composed by Tsunku, the group's producer.

As of 2012, the group's image was considered bright and energetic. Cute's 16th and 17th singles (2011) were happy songs in a major key, but the 18th single "Kimi wa Jitensha Watashi wa Densha de Kitaku" (April 2012) was quite unusual. It was a rock ballad about saying goodbye (it is time to go home; the song's young female protagonist must part with the boy she loves). Since then, the group's songs have generally been more mature.

Cute (album)

Cute is the fourth studio album by Japanese recording artist Arisa Mizuki, released through Nippon Columbia on July 21, 1995. It is predominately a pop music album. Cute was released only seventh months after Arisa III: Look and is Mizuki's last studio album to be released under Nippon Columbia. The album produced two singles, "Anata no Sedai e Kuchizuke o", written and produced by Tetsuya Komuro, and "Dakishimete!." Both singles debuted within the top twenty, with "Anata no Sedai e Kuchizuke o" becoming Mizuki's last single to break the top ten. Despite not being released as a single, track seven, "Kagayaite Ite (10 Years After)," was used as theme song for the NHK television and radio program Minna no Uta throughout June and July 1995.

CDJournal described Cute as a "percussive summer-driven dance pop" set with "occasional slow numbers" that mesh well with Mizuki's "angelic vocals." The online magazine singled out Komuro's sole contribution to the album, "Anata no Sedai e Kuchizuke o," as the most "orthodox" track on the record. The ninth track on the album, "Pitter Patter," is written and produced by Hiroshi Matsui and Suzi Kim, who are credited under the name of their production and songwriting team Royal Mirrorball.

Cute (Maltese band)

Cute is a teenage girl band from Malta consisting of Salaia Gerada, Trisha Smith, Paulanne Farrugia, Celaine Borg, and Marzia Farrugia. The group participated for Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007, in Rotterdam, Netherlands with their song Music. They performed fourteenth in the contest, preceding Greece, and succeeding Sweden. They finished in 12th place scoring 37 points overall.

While in Rotterdam, the band sometimes wore matching outfits. They travelled to the contest with their manager Alison Ellul, sound engineer Elton Zarb and hairstylists Cut Coiffeur.

Band members

Cute comprises five teenage female vocalists, who have all attended the Annalise School of Dancing, in Malta; where they learnt choreography. The group are also members of the Angelic Voices Choir.

Between the 25 and 28 July 2006, band member Marzia Farrugia participated in the third edition of the Golden Cross International Singing Festival which is held annually in Malta. Marzia won the Best Choreography award with the song "Stejjer".
