WCW Mayhem

Mayhem was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) produced by World Championship Wrestling (WCW) that replaced the promotion's November PPV event World War 3 which was held from 1995 to 1998 and was held in the month of November in 1999 and 2000. It is noted for being the first wrestling pay-per-view named after a video game, rather than the video game named after a pay-per-view. The 1999 match between Bret Hart vs Chris Benoit was featured in the opening credits of the TV Show Malcolm in the Middle. The rights to the event is now owned by the WWE since 2001.

1999

Mayhem 1999 took place on November 21, 1999 from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

During the WCW World Heavyweight Championship tournament semi-final match between Bret Hart and Sting, The Total Package interfered by attacking Sting with a baseball bat. This led to Hart being announced as the winner via disqualification. Not wanting to win in this manner, Hart demanded the match be restarted, and ultimately forced Sting to submit with the Sharpshooter. Scott Hall was originally supposed to face Rick Steiner for the WCW World Television Championship, but Steiner was too injured to compete. Hall was awarded the title by forfeit and immediately had to defend it against Booker T instead.

Mayhem (band)

Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1984 in Oslo, regarded as one of the pioneers of the Norwegian black metal scene. Mayhem's career has been highly controversial, primarily due to their violent stage performances, the 1991 suicide of vocalist Per Yngve Ohlin ("Dead") and the 1993 murder of guitarist Øystein Aarseth ("Euronymous") by former member Varg Vikernes ("Count Grishnackh"), of Burzum.

The group released a demo and an EP that were highly influential, and amassed a loyal following through sporadic and notorious live performances, attracting further attention through their ties to the string of Norwegian church burnings and the prominent incidents of violence surrounding them. They disbanded after Aarseth's murder, shortly before the release of their debut album, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, regarded as a classic of the black metal genre. Surviving former members Jan Axel Blomberg ("Hellhammer"), Jørn Stubberud ("Necrobutcher") and Sven Erik Kristiansen ("Maniac") reformed two years later with Rune Eriksen ("Blasphemer") replacing Aarseth. Attila Csihar and Krister Dreyer ("Morfeus") have since replaced Kristiansen and Eriksen, respectively.

Mayhem (video game)

Mayhem (also known as Mayhem 3D) is a racing video game developed by Left Field Productions, published by Rombax Games, and distributed by Zoo Entertainment for Xbox 360 and PS3. The game is a demolition derby style game that features 3D gameplay that works on any TV.

Graphics

The game features full 3D compatibility for any TV. It has an art style similar to MadWorld for the Wii, an over saturated graphic novel style with the only colors being black, white, and red as the sky.

Gameplay

The career mode is split into graphic novel chapters. There are multiple different game modes to play throughout the game. There are many things to unlock with Mayhem Points and Stars, including vehicles and tracks.

Zoom (The Knack album)

Zoom an album released by The Knack in 1998. It marked a second attempted comeback by The Knack, after their first attempt in 1991 with Serious Fun fizzled.Terry Bozzio served as the drummer on the album in place of The Knack's original drummer Bruce Gary. The album received positive reviews, including one that described it as the The Knack's best effort since their debut album. The album was re-released several years later as Re-Zoom with three bonus tracks.

Critical reception

Allmusic critic Steve Erlewine praised the album as the "best album the maligned power-pop band has recorded since their debut," Get The Knack. Writing in the Hartford Courant, Roger Catlin noted similarities between the opening song "Pop Is Dead", The Beatles' "And Your Bird Can Sing", and The Who's Tommy; he also noted similarities between the album's second song "Can I Borrow a Kiss" and the classic song "Needles and Pins." He commented that while the album initially seems "to be on a track to produce a classic in '60s rock emulation along the lines of Flamin' Groovies' Shake Some Action, some of the later tracks "disappoint." Author John Borack called the album "a stunning effort" and called it his favorite album of the year.Trouser Press referred to the album as "a good, solid effort" that "isn't at all bad as slick, commercial Beatlesque power pop goes" but also noted that "the Knack is firmly caught in a dead zone between nostalgia, irrelevance and scorn."

ATN Zoom

ATN Zoom (stylized zoOm) is a Canadian Category B Hindi language specialty channel that is owned by Asian Television Network (ATN). It broadcasts programming from Zoom as well as Canadian content.

Zoom (1999 TV series)

Zoom is an American television program for ages eight and up, created almost entirely by children. It originally aired on PBS from January 4, 1999 to December 30, 2005. It was a remake of a 1972 TV series by the same name. Both versions were produced by WGBH-TV in Boston. Reruns were aired until around early 2007. Zoom also aired on Discovery Kids in Canada.

Description

Zoom made a comeback in 1999 in largely the same format, with many of the same games and continued to feature content and ideas submitted by viewers. This second Zoom series ran for seven seasons (1999–2005) and featured 32 Zoomers but was not renewed after the 2005 season due to falling ratings blamed on the increased competition in children's programming.
