Amp Energy

Amp Energy (or simply Amp) is an energy drink brand produced and owned by PepsiCo. At the time of its introduction in 2001, Amp Energy was initially distributed under the Mountain Dew soft drink brand. Since 2009, it has been produced and labeled under its own stand-alone trademark name. The beverage is packaged in both 16-ounce and 24-ounce cans, and is sold in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. As of 2009, Amp Energy was the number four energy drink brand in the U.S. in terms of overall retail sales.

Flavors

The original formulation of Amp Energy was positioned as a flavor extension of the Mountain Dew brand, and in 2001 its label read "Amp Energy Drink from Mountain Dew". In 2008 the label design was changed to contract the product name to a more concise "Amp Energy", with the Mountain Dew logo being shifted to the lower portion of the cans. In Amp's 2011 redesign, the Mountain Dew logo was taken off the cans completely. According to beverage industry commentators at the time, this labeling update was enacted with the intent of "placing a stronger emphasis on the 'Amp Energy' brand and less on its Mountain Dew roots". Amp Energy Original contains taurine, B-vitamins, guarana, ginseng and maltodextrin. 8.4 fluid ounces of Amp contains 74 milligrams of caffeine.

Adenosine monophosphate

Adenosine monophosphate (AMP), also known as 5'-adenylic acid, is a nucleotide that is used as a monomer in RNA. It is an ester of phosphoric acid and the nucleoside adenosine. AMP consists of a phosphate group, the sugar ribose, and the nucleobase adenine. As a substituent it takes the form of the prefix adenylyl-.

AMP can be produced during ATP synthesis by the enzyme adenylate kinase by combining two ADP molecules:

AMP can also be formed by hydrolysis of ATP into AMP and pyrophosphate:

When RNA is broken down by living systems, nucleoside monophosphates, including adenosine monophosphate, are formed.

AMP can be regenerated to ATP as follows:

AMP can be converted into IMP by the enzyme myoadenylate deaminase, freeing an ammonia group.

In a catabolic pathway, adenosine monophosphate can be converted to uric acid, which is excreted from the body.

cAMP

AMP can also exist as a cyclic structure known as cyclic AMP (or cAMP). Within certain cells the enzyme adenylate cyclase makes cAMP from ATP, and typically this reaction is regulated by hormones such as adrenaline or glucagon. cAMP plays an important role in intracellular signaling.

Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane

Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane is an American teen sitcom starring Selma Blair, David Moscow, Michael Rosenbaum, and Azura Skye that premiered in 1999 on The WB network (now known as CW). During development, the show was initially known as Zoe Bean and was later retitled Zoe... during its second season.

The series ran for a total of 26 episodes (13 each season).

Main characters

The series centered on four eccentric high school friends in New York City.

The show also starred Mary Page Keller as Zoe's single mother Iris during the first season. Scott Foley, fresh from Dawson's Creek, appeared in the pilot with the intention of having him star in the series as Zoe's love interest. But once the pilot finally got picked up, Foley had already moved on to Felicity.

Zoë (singer)

Zoë (born Zoë Pollock, 19 January 1969, Peckham, London) is a British pop singer and songwriter, who had brief success in 1991 with two hit singles, "Sunshine on a Rainy Day", which climbed to #4 on the UK Singles Chart, and "Lightning", which reached #37 (and spent three weeks in the UK Top 40). Zoë has released two solo albums and five singles.

Career

She initially started her career in the mid-1980s, by auditioning for Jimi Cauty and Youth to be the lead singer for their band Brilliant. She began dating Youth, who would later produce her two solo albums.

Zoë released her debut single, "Sunshine On A Rainy Day", in late 1990, with two different music videos. It failed to reached the UK Top 40, however it was remixed and re-released in 1991 and it became a Top 10 hit, peaking at #4. Her début album, Scarlet Red and Blue (to which singer Sam Brown contributed) included "Sunshine on a Rainy Day" and another moderately popular song, "Lightning", which peaked and spent a respectable 3 weeks at #37 on the UK Singles Chart. The album, despite good promotion and reviews, however, did not sell well, reaching only #67 on the UK Albums Chart. It featured similar dance-pop tracks as well as soulful ballads. Soulful vocalists Sam Brown and Yazz both provided backing-vocals on the album. "Holy Days" was the last single from Scarlet Red and Blue, released in February 1992, but only managed #72. In 1991, Zoë sang backing vocals on Bananarama's Pop Life album, which was produced by Youth.
