Zirakpur

Zirakpur is a growing town, in Mohali District, Punjab, near Chandigarh in India. The town is considered a part of the Chandigarh capital region.

Demographics

As per the 2001 India census, Zirakpur had a population of 25,006. Males constitute 57% of the population and females 43%. Zirakpur has an average literacy rate of 63%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 56%. In Zirakpur, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. Majority of the population are of Hindu and Sikh faith. Members of other religions are also present.
