Cluster (spacecraft)

Cluster was a constellation of four European Space Agency spacecraft which were launched on the maiden flight of the Ariane 5 rocket, Flight 501, and subsequently lost when that rocket failed to achieve orbit. The launch, which took place on Tuesday, 4 June 1996, ended in failure due to an error in the software design caused by assertions having been turned off, which in turn caused inadequate protection from integer overflow. This resulted in the rocket veering off its flight path 37 seconds after launch, beginning to disintegrate under high aerodynamic forces, and finally self-destructing by its automated flight termination system. The failure has become known as one of the most infamous and expensive software bugs in history. The failure resulted in a loss of more than US$370 million.

Spacecraft

Cluster consisted of four 1,200 kilograms (2,600 lb) cylindrical, spin-stabilised spacecraft, powered by 224 watt solar cells. The spacecraft were to have flown in a tetrahedral formation, and were intended to conduct research into the Earth's magnetosphere. The satellites would have been placed into highly elliptical orbits; 17,200 by 120,600 kilometres (10,700 by 74,900 mi), inclined at 90 degrees to the equator.

Cluster (novels)

Cluster is a series of science fiction novels by Piers Anthony. Anthony originally conceived of and wrote the series as a trilogy but later added two additional volumes.

Setting

As the series opens, humanity has colonized an area of the galaxy roughly 100 light years in diameter. This area is called Sphere Sol, as it is the sphere of influence of the race from the star Sol, that is, the sun. Sphere Sol's "neighborhood" is also home to other spheres, each centered around a particular star: Spheres Polaris, Canopus, Spica, Nath, Mirzam, and Bellatrix as well as the huge, decadent Spheres Sador and Mintaka.

In the Cluster setting, races colonize other planets in three ways. The first is through instantaneous teleportation, called matter transmission or mattermission. This, however, is prohibitively expensive. Second, colonists travel to new worlds in "freezer" ships, where they are cryonically stored for the decades it takes for the voyage. Half of those frozen are lost due to failures either of the containment units or the ships themselves. The third and most common method of colonist travel is via lifeships, slower but safer multigenerational vessels that may take centuries to reach their destination. The drawback of the lifeships is that as they plod through space, their occupants regress in technical sophistication.

Nano (Spanish footballer, born 1982)

Fernando Macedo da Silva Rodilla (born 20 April 1982), known as Nano, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Racing de Ferrol mainly as a left winger.

He started out at FC Barcelona but, after only six competitive appearances with the first team, he went on to resume his career in both Segunda División and Segunda División B. In La Liga, he also represented Atlético Madrid, Getafe and Osasuna, amassing totals of 69 games and eight goals.

Club career

Nano was born in A Coruña, Galicia. At age 16, he seemed on the verge of a promising future as he was already playing with FC Barcelona's reserves, and the following year he made his first-team – and La Liga – debut, against Real Zaragoza; he would however, not be able to progress any further in his five-year stay with the Catalans, only appearing in three more games with the main squad.

After a solid first season with Atlético Madrid, with qualification to the UEFA Cup, Nano's career faded into obscurity as he was rarely featured with another club from Madrid, Getafe CF, and slightly more with Cádiz CF (the latter in the second division).

This is a list of episodes of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 TV series. The series debuted on February 8, 2003 on the Fox Network as part of Fox's 4Kids TV Saturday morning lineup, and ended on March 27, 2010. The series was produced by Mirage Studios, which owned one third of the rights to the show.

Season One: 2003

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' first season originally aired between February 4, 2003 and November 1, 2003, beginning with the "Things Change" episode. The episodes were released in two separate volumes, the first on May 22, 2007 with twelve episodes, and the second on September 18, 2007 with fourteen episodes.

Season Two: 2003–04

The Shredder returns in season 2 and is revealed to be an Utrom named Ch'rell. Karai the daughter of the Shredder makes her first appearance in this season.

Season Three: 2004–05

Many of the Ninja Turtles enemies return in season 3. This is the final season that includes Utrom Shredder.
