YuruYuri

YuruYuri (ゆるゆり, lit. Easygoing Yuri) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Namori. The series began serialization in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime S magazine from June 12, 2008, before being moved over to Comic Yuri Hime in September 2010. An anime adaptation by Dogakobo aired in Japan between July and September 2011, with a second season airing between July and September 2012. An original video animation by TYO Animations was released on February 18, 2015, followed by two TV specials which aired in August and September 2015. A third TV season by TYO Animations aired between October and December 2015. A spin-off web manga, Ohmuroke (大室家, Ōmuroke), began release on Nico Nico Seiga in July 2012.

Plot

Taking place at the fictional Nanamori Middle School in Takaoka, Toyama, the series revolves around the daily lives of the Amusement Club (ごらく部, Goraku-bu), consisting of Akari Akaza, her childhood friends, Kyōko Toshinō and Yui Funami, and her classmate, Chinatsu Yoshikawa; along with the school's Student Council which is made up of its own set of unique characters.

Yuri (Korean singer)

Cha Hyun-ok (Korean: 차현옥; born December 24, 1976), known by her stage name Yuri (Korean: 유리), is a South Korean pop singer. Debuting as a singer with Cool (쿨), she formed Girl Friends with best friend Chae Rina after the group's breakup in 2005. Yuri has since regrouped with Cool.

Career

Yuri was not an original member of Cool, but was brought in to replace Yoo Chae-yeong for the group's second album. The band's lineup stayed the same from the second album onwards. In 2004, though, Cool was reportedly in danger of breaking up due to tensions within the band. The group eventually broke up after the release of their tenth album in 2005.

A year after the breakup, Yuri announced that she would be joining with close friend Chae Ri-na to become a musical duo, named Girl Friends. Becoming friends in the 1990s while performing with their respective groups, the two had been discussing a possible joint project for 10 years. Girl Friends released their first album, Another Myself, in 2006, with the lead single "Maybe I Love You". Their second album, Addict 2 Times, was released in late 2007.
