Allmusic's William Ruhlman told about the album that it "turns out to translate as blue-eyed soul singing, for the most part."[6]
CCM Magazine's Grace S. Aspinwall said outside of the songs "Free", which was the song they liked, and "Suitcases" the album contains "moments of soul and pop are woven throughout, but with no clear style it feels a bit contrived, but fans of Francesca Battistelli will likely quickly become fans of Dara."[7]
Christian Music Reviews' Stacey Papanikos mentioned "If I had to sum her up in one word, it would be love! I really enjoyed Dara's album but I do think it's lacking a little bit in creativity. But nonetheless, if you love Francesca Battistelli or Kerrie Roberts, you definitely want to check out Dara MaClean!"[8]
Christianity Today's Mike Parker referred to the album as a "12-song collection of happy-feet pop."[9] The three song the magazine called the "top tracks" are "Suitcases," "Had to Be You"," and "So Good to Me".[9]
Gospel Music Channel's Lindsay Williams called this a "stylish 12-song set that’s unexpected. One thing’s for sure, with her debut album Dara Maclean’s got our attention."[10] Further, Williams was somewhat critical in saying "Lyrically, Maclean’s words are poetic, though not always deep, and at times ambiguous. Many songs could be interpreted to be written about God or a human relationship, while others stick to universal topics like love and grace."[10] Williams' compared her to Natalie Grant, Francesca Battistelli, and Crystal Lewis.[10]
Jay's Musik Blog's Jay Wright alluded to how the "project is awesome from start to end! There is not one bad track on this debut, and each listen leaves you coming back for even more!"[11] Wright continued saying "Dara's debut is a solid project and a must-have for fans of Francesca Battistelli and the like."[11]
Jesus Freak Hideout's Jen Rose indicated that the album is a "twelve summer-ready songs with a worshiper's heart."[13] Rose highlighted how the album "shifts easily between styles to show off Maclean's musical depth and range."[13] Rose noted the album "is great, retro fun that will brighten summer soundtracks", but cautioned that "It's not flawless, but it is a solid, fun record and shows lots of potential for this young artist's future."[13]
Louder Than the Music's Jono Davies surmised "I hope I have been able to explain how great and soulful, powerful and rich in tone Dara's vocals are. But this isn't a singer who just rests on her own voice to carry these songs. The songs are all very different in style and are very good songs that any artist would be proud of."[14] Davies mentioned the top tracks as being "You Got My Attention", "What Love Looks Like" and "Had To Be You".[14]
Melodic.net's Kaj Roth was critical, when Roth said the "album is well produced but it lacks of originality."[15]
New Release Tuesday's Kevin Davis praised the album as being a "flawless with twelve amazing songs."[12] Davis continued by saying the album "blew me away!"[12] Davis designated "this is my top album of the year for sure and Dara Maclean is the best new artist I've heard in CCM since Francesca Battistelli."[12]
New Release Tuesday's Kevin McNeese said musically the album is enfused with "R&B, Pop, Soul and even elements of Jazz."[16] McNeese evoked the "joy...you hear it in the lyrics and the voice throughout songs like "You Got My Attention," "Free," "Nothin' You Won't Do" and the first single, "Suitcases.""[16] In concluding, McNeese alluded to how the album is "certainly one of the few debuts worthy to be placed on my Top 10 list this year."[16]
PARCBENCH's Greg Victor noted the album is "full of joy and purpose."[17]
Worship Leader's Randy Cross advised to "add this CD to your personal music collection and watch as everyone in your family finds something to like."[18] Cross said the album is "displaying a mix of influences, the truth of Christ’s love is evident as you listen."[18]
Attention! is the third studio album by German recording artist Alexander Klaws. It was released by Sony BMG on Hansa Records on March 10, 2006 in German-speaking Europe. Recorded after a short-living hiatus, it marked a departure from Klaws' previous work with Deutschland sucht den Superstar judge and musical mentor Dieter Bohlen, who gained no credit on the record. Instead, the album features a wider range of producers, including Terri Bjerre, David Stenmarck, Sandi Strmljan, Thorsten Brötzmann, Ivo Moring, and Mirko von Schlieffen.
The album reached the top twenty of the album charts in Austria and Germany, becoming the singer's lowest–charting album then following the number-one success of his previous albums Take Your Chance (2003) and Here I Am (2004). Attention! spawned two singles, "All (I Ever Want)", the theme song to the musical The Three Musketeers, featuring vocals by German singer Sabrina Weckerlin and leading single "Not like You".
Attention is the behavioral and cognitive process of selectively concentrating on a discrete aspect of information, whether deemed subjective or objective, while ignoring other perceivable information. Attention has also been referred to as the allocation of limited processing resources.
Attention remains a major area of investigation within education, psychology, neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, and neuropsychology. Areas of active investigation involve determining the source of the sensory cues and signals that generate attention, the effects of these sensory cues and signals on the tuning properties of sensory neurons, and the relationship between attention and other behavioral and cognitive processes like working memory and vigilance. A relatively new body of research, which expands upon earlier research within neuropsychology, is investigating the diagnostic symptoms associated with traumatic brain injuries and their effects on attention. Attention also varies across cultures.
Attention is a rock band from Minneapolis, MN. Featuring former members of The Stereo, Gloria Record, New End Original and Gratitude, Attention is singer/guitarist Jeremy Tappero, drummer David Jarnstrom, guitarist Eric Malmberg and bassist Derek Ritchison.
The band released their first album in 2003, with the LP "Say What You Mean What You Say" which was released on Suburban Home Records. Attention played live both locally and on many national tours, but was put on hiatus when Jeremy and David took over the guitar and drum duties in Gratitude. After the breakup of Gratitude, Jeremy and David returned to Attention in the later part of 2005 to record a new CD. "Yeah.. I'm Fine", was released in Japan on Bad News Records The band's involvement with Bad News Records also gained them several live shows in Japan in December 2005. In 2007 Attention released a teaser EP titled "Stand Strong" featuring all new material. The Stand Strong EP was recorded is Los Angeles by producer Chris Testa (Jimmy Eat World, Dixie Chicks, Switchfoot) and mixed in Minneapolis by Grammy winner James Harley. After a 2008 UK tour Attention headed back into the studio to begin work on a brand new full length album. "Everything Takes Forever" was released in June 2009. In January 2010, Attention returned to the studio to record a follow up to "Everything Takes Forever." The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered over the course of 31 days. "Through The Wire" was released February 1, 2010. In the spring of 2012, they entered the studio to record a new full length album. "Tattered Youth" was released May 22nd, 2012.
Lookin' all around me
What a crazy mixed up world
People being pulled in every direction
It's like our visions been blurred
But the chaos makes it easy to see
No, it's never been more clear me
You got my attention now
You captured me
You got my attention now
I can't take my eyes of You,
You're the one I need
You've stolen my affection
You got a hold of my heart
I'm so caught up,
Nothing compares
To how beautiful You are
So I'm givin' all of me to You
Cause no one loves me like You do
You got my attention now
You captured me
You got my attention now
I can't take my eyes of You,
You're the one I need
My eyes are fixed on You
I'm so addicted to
Your love, Your heart
You are so captivating
You got my attention now
You captured me
You got my attention now
I can't take my eyes of You,
You're the one I need
