Yogesh Mittal

Yogesh Mittal (born 21 December 1976) is a critically acclaimed Indian film director, screenwriter and producer. He turned director with Hindi thriller Yeh Faasley (2011).

Before becoming a director he has earlier worked as an assistant director with several production houses, with director Rajkumar Santoshi.

Early life and background

Yogesh Mittal was born in Delhi, India to Omprakash Mittal, a film producer and distributor, and Prem Mittal, a bank manager. He was discouraged to get into show business by his father. His schooling was at St. Xavier's School, Delhi. Immediately after school he was sent to Australia for further studies in economics at University of Western Sydney, Nepean, Australia. But he changed his subjects in college to communications and arts - film studies to follow his passion. When he returned to India in 1999 his father didn't speak to him for a year for his decision of change in career.

Career

Yogesh moved to Mumbai in 1999 to follow his passion of film making and started his career as an assistant director with Boney Kapoor. Under Boney Kapoor he assisted films like "Shakti", "Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe", "Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai", "pukar" to name a few.

Yogesh

Yogesh is a Hindu name for males. It is formed from two words: Yoga-Ishvara (Ishvara means God). The name literally means "God of Yoga", or Destiny's God; who according to the Hindu mythology is Shiva.

Yogis practice yoga to become free from material bondage and to spiritualize the consciousness. Yogesh means the one who is perfect in Yoga.

    Yogesh (Kannada: ಯೋಗೇಶ್; born 6 July 1990), also known as Yogi, is an Indian actor working predominantly in the Kannada film industry. He debuted in the film Duniya (2007) where he portrayed the character of "Loose Maada".

    Yogesh was born on 6 July 1990 to the producer T. P. Siddaraju and Ambuja. His brother Mahesh has also worked as an actor. He is the nephew of Kannada actor Duniya Vijay.

    Yogesh Gaur (born 1943) is an Indian writer and lyricist. He wrote songs for Bollywood, and is best known for songs like, Kahin Door Jab Din Dal Jaaye and Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli in Anand (1971).

    Life

    Yogesh was born on 16 April 1943 in Lucknow , Uttar Pradesh.

    He moved in search of work, his cousin was a screenplay director. His first work was with Hrishikesh Mukherjee, and wrote Kahin Door Jab Din Dal Jaaye. He wrote songs like Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli and Rimjhim gire Saawan, Kai baar yunhi dekha hai from Rajnigandha and Na bole tum na maine kuch kaha from Baaton Baaton Mein.

    Yogesh also worked in television serials as a writer.

    Lyric writer Yogesh Gaur was a man in great demand among the slice-of-life filmmakers like Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The story goes that Mukherjee heard the lyrics of two songs Yogesh had written for producer LB Lachman's film, and wanted them for Anand.

    Lachmanji was adamant about keeping the songs, but Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan and Mukherjee pleaded with him. Bachchan, who was a young man then, would say to me, Please get us these two songs somehow. Finally, Lachmanji relented and gave them one of the songs, says Yogesh.
