The Ynglings were the oldest known Scandinavian dynasty. It can refer to the clans of the Scylfings (Old Norse Skilfingar), the semi-legendary royal Swedish clan during the Age of Migrations, with kings such as Eadgils, Onela and Ohthere. When Beowulf and Ynglingatal were composed sometime in the eighth to tenth centuries, the respective scop and skald (poet) expected his audience to have a great deal of background information about these kings, which is shown in the allusiveness of the references.
Ynglings also refers to the Fairhair dynasty, descending from the kings of Oppland, Norway. According to surviving early sources, such as Ynglingatal and Íslendingabók, these kings were descended from the Swedish Scylfings of Uppland, Sweden. The House of Munsö, a Swedish dynasty, also falls under the definition of Yngling. The earliest kings of this dynasty that historians generally agree are historical are Eirik the Victorious and Olof Skötkonung.
Some early kings were likely mythical, whereas others may have been real. Egil, Ottar, Ale and Adils are mentioned in several sources and are very likely to be real kings.
Yngling or similar terms may refer to one of the following:-
An Yngling (/ˈɪŋlɪŋ/; Norwegian pronunciation: [yŋlɪŋ]) is a sailing boat which the International Yngling Association call an "agreeable cross between a planing dinghy and a keelboat." It can be regarded as a smaller version of the Soling although there are differences in sailing characteristics, proportion, and tuning requirements, between the two classes.
It was designed in 1967 by Jan Herman Linge to build a keelboat for his young son, and thus named it Yngling, the Norwegian word for "youngster"; the name is unrelated to the House of Yngling or the Ynglinga saga.
In the last quarter of the last century the class gained interest in many countries worldwide and spread over the continents of North America, Australia and Europe. The Yngling received ISAF International Class status in 1979 and was chosen as the Olympic Women's Keelboat for 2004 and 2008. The boat's Olympic status led to a flurry of activity in building and sail design refinements. For the London 2012 games the Yngling was replaced by the Elliott 6m.
Anne has left you marks here
Anne has left you marks here
Anne has left you marks of love and hope
One is on the floor with laughter rolling
One is on the floor and one disclosed
Never again would you be told
As Anne we loved you
Anne we wouldn?t judge you
Anything you might do
Anne we've lost you and we think of you
Anytime you could choose
Look whose at your side now
Look whose at your side now
Look whose at your side now, use them both
One is on the floor with laughter rolling
One is on the floor and one disclosed
Never again would you be told
As Anne we loved you
Anne we wouldn?t judge you
Anything you might do
Anne we?ve lost you and we think of you
Anytime you could choose
Anne has left your memory
Anne has left your memory
Anne has left your memory sharp and cloaked
One is on the floor with laughter rolling
One is on the floor and one disclosed
Never again would you be told
As Anne we loved you
Anne we wouldn?t judge you
Anything you might do
Anne we?ve lost you and we think of you
Anytime you could choose
One is for you Anne, oh I
