Ye Hai Mohabbatein

Ye Hai Mohabbatein (English: This is Love), previously titled Tera Mera Rishta Purana is an Indian soap opera on Star Plus. It first aired on 3 December 2013, and airs from Monday to Sunday in the evening. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms. The story is partially based on Manju Kapur's novel Custody. Set in Delhi, the show follows the love story of Ishita, who is Tamil, and Raman, who is Punjabi. Ishita is sterile and gets attached emotionally to Raman's daughter, Ruhi, who lives with her divorced father. Raman's ex-wife, Shagun, lives with her boyfriend Ashok and Aditya, her son with Raman.

Plot summary

Raman Bhalla is a businessman who lives with his pregnant wife Shagun and their young son Aditya. His boss Ashok, a corrupt sexual predator, lusts for Shagun and attempts to seduce her with his wealth. Six months after the birth of their daughter Ruhi, Raman discovers Ashok and Shagun's affair and divorces Shagun, who leaves alongside Aditya to stay with Ashok. Six years later, Raman becomes the CEO of his company. Ishita, a kindhearted doctor, is revealed to be his new neighbor. In spite of being sterile, she forms an emotional bond with Ruhi. Mihika, Ishita's sister, develops feelings for Mihir, who is Raman's best friend, but Raman's brother Romi also harbors feelings for Mihika. After Shagun attempts to regain custody of Ruhi, Raman and Ishita marry to prevent that from happening. Although Raman is initially hostile towards her, the two gradually fall in love with each other. Meanwhile, Mihir and Mihika plan for their marriage, much to the chagrin of Romi. Problems begin to develop between Ashok and Shagun, who is forced to satisfy Ashok's clients and resists.

Mohabbatein

Mohabbatein (Hindi: मोहब्बतें, English: Love Stories) is a 2000 Indian musical romantic drama film directed by Aditya Chopra. It was Chopra's second directorial venture after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and was filmed at India and the United Kingdom. The film stars Shahrukh khan and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles, along with six young debutantes. Aishwarya Rai appeared in flashbacks as Khan's lover. The film's soundtrack was composed by Jatin-Lalit, while the lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi. The film is notable for being the first time that Bachchan and Khan appeared on-screen together.

The film went on to do well both critically and commercially. Although only the second highest grosser of the year domestically, it became the highest grossing film of 2000 overseas and thus worldwide. It also won several awards including the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor, for Khan and Bachchan respectively.

Plot

Narayan Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan) is the strict headmaster of Gurukul, a prestigious all-boys university. Narayan wants the best out of his students, and places emphasis on tradition, honor and discipline. He has run the university for 25 years and over that time, he has forbid the students from any kind of romance — anyone he catches falling in love will be expelled. The film focuses on three of the school's students: Sameer (Jugal Hansraj), Vicky (Uday Chopra) and Karan (Jimmy Shergill) who all fall in love. Sameer is in love with Sanjana (Kim Sharma), his childhood friend. Vicky falls for Ishika (Shamita Shetty), a student at the all-girls university next door to Gurukul. Karan becomes smitten with Kiran (Preeti Jhangiani), a girl he sees one night at a train station. All three know that if they're caught they'd be expelled, so they at first do not pursue their love interests.

Hái!

Hái! is the fourth and final album to be released by British duo The Creatures, composed of former Siouxsie and the Banshees members Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie. The album was recorded in two parts: the drums were recorded by Budgie and Kodo drummer Leonard Eto in Tokyo in August 2002 and the rest of the recording was done in Europe. During their stay in Japan, the band was inspired and "touched by the delicate snowfall imagery of Akira Kurosawa's Ikiru (1952), absorbing the vibrancy of Tokyo's Roppongi district, and spiritualised by the ancient Shinto shrines and tranquil shores of Lake Ashi."

Hái! was hailed by critics for its "Anglo-Japanese beauty".

History

In April 2002, Budgie was touring the U.S. with the Banshees, and while in Chicago, met Japanese producer Hoppy Kamiyama, known for his work with Eto. Budgie and Siouxsie had long wanted to collaborate with Eto, but had never contacted him. After an exchange of emails with Eto, The Creatures booked a studio in Tokyo and invited him to join them for a session on 19 August 2002. They approached the session in the same way as they conceived Feast: "Turn up and see what happens!". During the recording, Siouxsie took notes and stockpiled ideas for the songs. In the days that followed the session, the duo visited Roppongi district, the Shinto shrines and Lake Ashi, and shot images with a DV camera (that footage would later appear in a documentary included as a DVD in a limited edition of Hái!).

Hai! (Live in Japan)

Hai! (Live in Japan) is a 1982 live album by the U.K. industrial band Cabaret Voltaire. It was recorded at the Tsubaki House in Tokyo, Japan on 23 March 1982, and was released on CD in 1991 by Mute Records Ltd. The original master tapes being lost, the CD was transferred from a vinyl copy (unfortunately, a US pressing was used, with significantly poorer sound and more surface noise than a Japanese original).

The performance on the album reflected the band's move towards a more funk-oriented sound. Alan Fish had joined the band by this time on drums and percussion, replacing Chris Watson.

The album reached number five in the UK Indie Chart in 1982.
