Xavier Naidoo

Xavier Kurt Naidoo (born October 2, 1971), also known by his stage name Kobra, is a German Soul and R&B singer/songwriter, record producer, and occasional actor.

Career

Born and raised in Mannheim, Naidoo worked in several jobs in the food and music industries before relocating to the United States in the early 1990s, where he released his first full-length English-language album Seeing Is Believing under his stage name Kobra in 1994. He currently resides in his native Germany.

After working as a backing vocalist for the Rödelheim Hartreim Projekt and 3P label mates Sabrina Setlur and Illmat!c, Naidoo released his first German language album Nicht von dieser Welt in 1998, for which he won an ECHO Award and an MTV Europe Music Award. Selling more than one million copies in total, it produced six singles, including "Seine Straßen" and "Sie sieht mich nicht", the latter of which served as the theme song for Astérix & Obélix Take on Caesar (1999). After his highly publicized departure from 3P, his third studio album Zwischenspiel – Alles für den Herrn was released in 2002. It spawned the top five hit singles "Wo willst du hin?" and "Abschied nehmen" and led to a collaboration with Wu-Tang Clan member and producer RZA, with whom he released his first number-one single "Ich kenne nichts (das so schön ist wie du)" in 2003.

Live in Europe 1993

Live in Europe 1993 (alternative title: On Tour MCMXCIII) is a live box set containing two concerts recorded by Deep Purple in 1993.

The first recording is from a show on 16 October at the Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart, Germany. The second is from a show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England on 9 November, which would be the final show Ritchie Blackmore did with Deep Purple in England.

The live album Come Hell or High Water from 1994 was recorded at this Stuttgart show. The Birmingham show was released on DVD as Come Hell or High Water in 1994.

The second concert was subsequently re-released in 2007 under the title Live at the NEC. Ian Gillan advised fans not to buy this release, describing the performance as one of the band's worst.

    On Tour

    by: Kurt Vile

On tour, lord of the flies
Aw, hey, who cares? What's a guitar?
    Watch out for this one
He'll stab you in the back for fun
I'm just playin', I know you, man
    Most of the time
    Watch out for this one
He'll pump you full of air
For turnin' your head wrong, I wouldn't know
I see through everyone, even my own self now
I wanna write my whole life down
Burn it there to the ground
I wanna sing at, top of my lungs
    For fun, screamin' annoyingly
'Cause that's just me bein' me, bein' free
    Watch out for this one
He'll pump you full of air
For turnin' your head wrong, I wouldn't know
'Cause I can see through him and them
On tour, lord of the flies, I'm just playin'
I got it made, most of the time
I wanna beat on a drum so hard
    'Til it bleeds blood
    Pull out the heart
