Wyra is a town and mandal headquarters in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located at a distance of 25 km from the district headquarters, Khammam.

Wyra has an approximate population of 112,205 according to 2001 census. Among them males constitutes 57,984 and females 54,221. The average literacy rate is 60.59%; which in males is 70.20% and female 50.73%. Wyra is famous for agriculture.
The town is located on the state highway that passes between Khammam and other major cities of the district (such as Kothagudem, Bhadrachalam and Madhira). This stretch of the highway is an important connector between the district headquarters and the rest of the cities in the district.
The town's location and its strategic importance as a junction point has been helpful for the development of its local economy.
The town is famous for "Lord Ayyappa Temple" located on the highway between Wyra and Khammam. There are other famous temples such as "Lord Rama Temple" near the old bus stand center. The 48 ft statue of Hanuman located in Ayyappa temple is the Asia's second largest Hanuman statue.
Wyra reservoir is located next to the town. It is one of the tourist attractions in Khammam district. This Wyra reservoir was dug in 1929, and inaugurated by Dr. Sarvepalli Radha krishnan president of India at that time. It provides drinking water to eight mandalas around Wyra. Besides, hundreds of hectares of land is cultivated using water from Wyra reservoir. It is also well known for its good fishing and the green hills around it.
Wyra Reservoir is a medium irrigation project that covers 9,308 hectares for irrigation.
There is a future proposal for "water sports" at this reservoir.It servers nearly 535 villages with drinking water.
According to the recent revision of "Assembly Segments" in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Wyra has been alloted a new Assembly Segment (was a part of "Madhira" assembly segment until 2004 State Elections). This is reserved for a general quota candidature.
One of the biggest villages in the mandal and providing basic amenities for the nearby villagers, like High school,Hospital etc.

Wyra Assembly constituency is a ST reserved constituency of Telangana Legislative Assembly, India. It is one among 10 constituencies in Khammam district.It is part of Khammam Lok Sabha constituency .
In 2014 Assembly elections Banoth Madanlal was elected as MLA from YSRCP party.

WYRA (98.5 FM) is a broadcast radio station licensed to Confluence, Pennsylvania and serving the Confluence/Uniontown/Somerset area. WYRA is owned and operated by Educational Media Foundation and broadcasts a Contemporary Christian music format as part of the Air 1 network.
The station was assigned the WKEL call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on July 9, 2007. The station changed its call sign to the current WYRA on March 28, 2012.
The station's community of license was previously listed by the FCC as Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, where the station would serve the Meyersdale, Pennsylvania/Cumberland, Maryland area. A change of plans by WYRA licensee Educational Media Foundation moved the station to Confluence, Pennsylvania.
