WUPT-CA channel 25 was the UPN affiliate in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, licensed in Crystal Falls, Michigan. The station signed off on October 27, 2003, after losing the UPN affiliation to the new, full-powered Fox affiliate, WMQF.
The station originally broadcast on channel 49, but would move to channel 25 in the late-1990s.
WUPT also had a translator in Republic, Michigan, WUPT-LP channel 43.

The Federal Communications Commission issued a construction permit for the station on June 9, 2005. The station was assigned the call sign WUPF on September 29, 2006, and received its license to cover on July 29, 2008. On August 7, 2008, the station changed its call sign to the current WUPT.
The Point was designed and developed by veteran program director Chip Arledge who also serves as the station's morning show host.
