WSKY-FM (97.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a News Talk Information format. Licensed to Micanopy, Florida, USA, the station serves the Gainesville-Ocala, Florida area. The station is currently owned by Entercom Communications.
When the station signed on in 1998, the original on-air slogan was "Sky King," but this was later shortened to "The Sky." WSKY carries a variety of local and national programming, including political talk radio, call-in advice shows, and paid programming. Its political talk radio programming is politically conservative.
What is now WSKY began operations in 1985 on 97.7 FM as WGLV, an adult contemporary station known as "Gainesville's Love 98." WGLV was co-owned with WGGG-AM 1230, a longtime legendary Top 40 station in the market, and tried to take advantage of the connection by hiring legendary WGGG personality "Boomer" Hough as its first morning show host. However, Hough's show lasted only a few months. WGLV tried to further bank on the legendary WGGG calls in 1987 by adopting a 1970s-based oldies format as WGGG-FM and declaring "The Legend is Back!"; this, too, proved short-lived. After WGGG-AM/FM were sold in 1989, WGGG-FM became WLCL, a soft AC station branded as "Clear FM".
WSKY (1230 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a religious format. Licensed to Asheville, North Carolina, USA. The station is currently owned by Wilkins Communications Network.
For almost 50 years, Zeb Lee ran WSKY, including serving as an announcer for high-school football games. He was the first to introduce rock and roll to Asheville when he sponsored an Elvis Presley concert in 1955.
Zeb Lee was a pioneer in Asheville broadcasting. First he loved radio and honestly cared about the community; he produced many great radio programs, including "The Man on the Street" a daily talk show live in front of the S & W Cafeteria in downtown Asheville. For many years Zeb and his engineer "Buddy" Resienburg did a live broadcast of every Asheville High football game. Zeb Lee hired and trained many DJ's who went on to have great careers in large market radio.
WSKY was a Top 40 station in the 1970s and early 1980s.
In March 1994, Lee sold WSKY in order to put WZLS on the air.
Scrivimi
quando il vento avrà spogliato gli alberi
Gli altri sono andati al cinema
ma tu vuoi restare sola
Poca voglia di parlare
allora scrivimi
Servirà a sentirti meno fragile
quando nella gente troverai
solamente indifferenza
tu non ti dimenticare mai di me
E se non avrai da dire
niente di particolare
non ti devi preoccupare
io saprò capire
A me basta di sapre
che mis pensi anche un minuto
perché io so accontentarmi
anche di un semplice saluto
Ci vuole poco
per sentirsi più vicini
Scrivimi
quando il cielo sembrerà più limpido
Le giornate ormai si allungano
Ma tu non aspettar la sera
se hai voglia di cantare...
Scrivimi
anche quando penserai
che ti sei innamorata
