52 Express is a turbine powered streamliner motorcycle designed and built by Alex Macfadzean as an all-British land-speed record challenger. It was first displayed to the public in 2014, and as of late 2014 has not been speed tested in public. The intended rider is retired British racer James Toseland.
The 52 Express was shown at Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2013.
The design team are all British. The machine was primarily designed and created by Alex Macfadzean, who holds the British motorcycle land speed record. Macfadzean had worked as crew member on Don Vesco's wheel-driven land speed record holding (as of 2014) automobile Turbinator in 2001.
The powerplant is a 1,000-horsepower (750 kW) Rolls-Royce Gem turboshaft engine, originally built for helicopter applications. The rear wheels are driven by dual Kevlar belts.
According to Bennetts and others, the rear tire may be constructed of polyurethane by a roller coaster wheel manufacturer.
Students at University of Derby have provided aerodynamic studies of the body and air intakes. They aim to create a design with coefficient of drag less than 0.121.
The Express 34 is a light displacement sloop designed by Carl Schumacher. It was built by Terry Alsberg at the Alsberg Brothers Boatworks in Santa Cruz, California in the 1980s.
Wow may refer to:
Wow! (styled WOW!) was an online service run by CompuServe.com in 1996 and early 1997. Started in March 1996, it was originally thought to be an improved version of CompuServe's software, but it was later announced that it would be a user-friendly stand-alone "family" online service and was widely advertised on TV as such. Wow! was the first internet service to be offered with a monthly "unlimited" rate ($17.95) and stood out because of its brightly colored, seemingly hand-drawn pages.
The first release of this program was quite buggy, with many random shutdowns of the service and loss of email messages. The service developed a small, but very loyal fan base. However, this was not enough and the service was shut down on January 31, 1997.
There is a strong group of "WOWIES" who have fought on for years after its demise, to stay connected through chat groups, and a webring. This group believes they were "sold out" by Compuserve because the service was being bought out by AOL, who began offering a $19.95 unlimited service as it was shutting down WOW.
Wow! was a British comic book magazine that ran from 5 June 1982 to 25 June 1983, when it merged with Whoopee!. Its strips included:
about a boy and his army of ants. Drawn by Sid Burgon. This was originally a comic strip from Cor!! comic, called 'Andy and his Ants'. Two issue of Wow! feature reprints of old Cor!! strips.
about a boy whose jacket is covered in magical pin badges given to him by a jumble sale stallholder one morning. Drawn by Terry Bave
about a boy and his pet pigeon. Drawn by Trevor Metcalfe. Although issue 56 was the last to regularly feature the characters, new story's were printed in the Wow Annual 1986 (printed and distributed in 1985) and the summer specials until 1985. In this last story we see Coo piloting a model plane for a competition.
about a robot. Drawn by Jim Barker, survived merger with Whoopee
about a boy who owns a multi-million dollar global enterprise. Drawn by Frank McDiarmid. Survived merger with Whoopee.
It's a cold and crazy world
That's raging outside
But baby, me and all my girls
Are bringin' on the fire
Show a little leg
Gotta shimmy your chest
It's a life, it's a style, it's a need
It's burlesque
E-X-P-R-E-S-S
Love
Ladies no regrets
(Repeat x1)
Been holdin' back for quite some time
And finally the moment's right
I love to make the people stare
They know I got that certain savoir faire
Fasten up
Can you imagine what
would happen if I let you close enough to touch
Step into the fantasy
You'll never want to leave
Baby that's guaranteed
Why?
It's a passion,
An emotion,
It's a fashion
Burlesque
It'll move you, going through you, so do what I do
Burlesque
All ladies, confident, flaunt it
Boys throw it up if you want it
Can you feel me?
Can you feel it?
It's burlesque
Le-le-le-le-le-le-le
Burlesque
Le-le-le-le-le-le-le
Burlesque
I tease 'em til they're on the edge
They scream and moan for more and more baby
I know it's me they come to see
My pleasure brings them to their knees
Fasten up
Can you imagine what
would happen if I let you close enough to touch
Step into the fantasy
You'll never want to leave
Baby that's guaranteed
Why?
It's a passion,
An emotion,
It's a fashion

It'll move you, going through you, so do what I do
