  • Together (Larry Coryell & Emily Remler album)

Together is an album by the American guitarists Larry Coryell and Emily Remler, which was released by Concord Jazz records in 1985.

    Reception

AllMusic awarded the album with 4.5 stars and its review by Scott Yanow states: "This interesting and one-time matchup features Larry Coryell and Emily Remler on a set of guitar duets. It is easy to tell the two players apart, yet their styles were quite complementary. Highlights of the date (which has four standards, Pat Martino's "Gerri's Blues" and two Coryell originals) include "Joy Spring", "How My Heart Sings" and "How Insensitive". The Penguin Guide review says: ""Together" delivers fulsomely, a warm, approachable album which does not lack for subtleties. Recommended".

  • "Joy Spring" (Clifford Brown) 5:44
  • "Ill Wind" (Harold Arlen, Ted Koehler) 6:27

Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do

Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do is a 1974 nonfiction book by the noted oral historian and radio broadcaster Studs Terkel.

Editing Working is a book which investigates the meaning of work for different people under different circumstances, showing it can vary in importance. The book also reflects Terkel's general idea that work can be difficult but still provides meaning for workers. It is an exploration of what makes work meaningful for people in all walks of life, from Lovin' Al the parking valet, Dolores the waitress, the fireman, to the business executive. The narrative moves through mundane details, emotional truths, and existential questioning.

    Structure

Following a preface, a foreword, and an introduction, the volume is divided into nine "books," each of which contains one or more subsections that provide several accounts of working people's jobs and lives. These books tie their diverse content together with themes. These themes take the form of subtitles. Some books have only one theme (the theme of Book One is "Working the Land"); others have several.

    Working Together

    by: Gonzales

    If you don't look good
    And I don't look good
    And we don't look good
So let's make it work please
    Straight to work please
    Up your shirt sleaves
    If you're done talkin'
    And I'm done talkin'
    So we're done talkin'
    So let's connect guys
    Past and bed time
    I'm on dead line
    Cut the BS
    Don't be depressed
    You need to destress
    Don't forget this
    You're my apprentice
    You need to sweat this
    Just feel the tension
    You teeth are clenchin'
    in reprehension
    Let it guide you
    And get inside you
    And get like I do
    Ah ah Working together
    Ah Ah Livin' together
    Ah Ah diein' together
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
    (x2)
    And you don't look good
    And I don't look good
    And we don't look good
    And if you mess up
    It's like I messed up
    And we both messed up
    Don't be lazy
    Don't be drainy
    'Cause it drives me crazy
    And when I say crazy
    To say how crazy
    I say real crazy
And then the boss is happy
    And she will thank me
    And you will thank me
And if the boss is cranky
    And she won't thank me
    And I won't be happy
    I tell you frankly
    If I get cranky
    then I get spankings
    So no hanky-panky
    You cannot flank me
    You don't out rank me
    Ah ah Working together
    Ah Ah Livin' together
    Ah Ah diein' together
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
    (x2)
    If you don't look good
    And I don't look good
    And we don't look good
    And I'm so controlling
    you're not controlling
    I control the whole thing
    Stick with me kid
    You're stuck with me kid
    To keep our secret
See, I'm hard to work with
    But all the work is
    Hardly worthless
    Ah ah Working together
    Ah Ah Livin' together
    Ah Ah diein' together
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
    (x2)
    working together, working together, feels like forever;
    working together. (x2)
    Oh oh oh oh oh!
