The Black and White Album is the fourth studio album by Swedish rock band The Hives. The track listing for The Black and White Album was confirmed on the band's German website on 13 September 2007, and later through NME. The Hives recorded 20 to 30 songs (including seven recorded with super producers The Neptunes) for this album from which they finally chose the best. Other tracks were produced by Jacknife Lee and Dennis Herring. Sessions were held with Timbaland, with whom the band produced the song "Throw It On Me", but took place too late for any of the resulting tracks to be on the album. They hoped to use these songs as B-sides.
The band revealed in an NME interview that one song, "Puppet on a String", has just "piano and hand claps".
The song "A Stroll Through Hive Manor Corridors" is an instrumental using just a 1960s organ and a drum machine.
The song "Fall Is Just Something Grownups Invented" was written and was being used for autumn promotions on the US television channel Cartoon Network. This song appears as a bonus track on the United Kingdom version of the album, the iTunes release in the United States and in the Japanese Edition with the album, along with "Hell No".
The modal verbs of English are a small class of auxiliary verbs used mostly to express modality (properties such as possibility, obligation, etc.). They can be distinguished from other verbs by their defectiveness (they do not have participle or infinitive forms) and by the fact that they do not take the ending -(e)s in the third-person singular.
The principal English modal verbs are can, could, may, might, must, shall, should, will and would. Certain other verbs are sometimes, but not always, classed as modals; these include ought, had better, and (in certain uses) dare and need. Verbs which share some but not all of the characteristics of the principal modals are sometimes called "semimodals".
The verbs customarily classed as modals in English have the following properties:
No bright lights, no big city went to my head
So I won't stick around in this town
No I'm getting out instead
'Cause I can't find a thing here to get it done
to race my heart and ring my ears
So I won't stick around in this town
And that's true ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
'Cause I won't and I can't and I don't understand
You became what you hate or you hate what you become
Got me a ticket and I won't be long 'cause I can't go on and I gotta get goin'
Got me a ticket and I won't be long 'cause I can't go on and I gotta get goin' away
So I make my way through the quagmire
Of boomers glorifying their youth
And all the peacocks in this city
So if I may be excused
'Cause I won't and I can't and I don't understand
You became what you hate or you hate what you become
Got me a ticket and I won't be long 'cause I can't go on and I gotta get goin' [x3]
Got me a ticket and I won't be long 'cause I can't go on and I gotta get goin' away
Well I won't be around for the good times
Won't be around for the bad
And I won't stick around in this town
No I'm getting out instead
I won't
And I can't
And I'll leave
'Cause I can
And I won't be back again!
Well I
Got me a ticket and I won't be long 'cause I can't go on and I gotta get goin' [x3]
Got me a ticket and I won't be long 'cause I can't go on and I gotta get goin' away
And I gotta get gone away
Cuz I gotta get gone away
Gotta get gone away
