WMEX may refer to:
WMEX (1510 AM) is a radio station licensed to serve the Boston media market. Its programming is a mixture of libertarian and personality talk shows. It first began broadcasting in 1934 as WMEX, and after using various call signs since 1978, regained the original WMEX call sign on November 17, 2014.
The highly directional, 50,000 watt signal of WMEX protects directional Class A, 50,000 watt, WLAC in Nashville (which also protects WMEX since the station pre-dated WLAC on the frequency).
WMEX was founded in 1934 by Bill and Al Pote, with studios in the Hotel Manger, and was originally on 1500 kc., with 500 watts day, 100 watts night from a transmitter site on Powder Horn Hill in Chelsea, and later (1940-1981) from a site off West Squantum Road in Quincy, near the then-WNAC/WAAB (now WBIX) site in the Neponset River valley. After several unsuccessful attempts to move to 1470 with a power upgrade to 5,000 watts, WMEX finally made the move (with power increase) in 1941, just in time for the North American Radio Broadcasting Agreement to move that channel to its current frequency, 1510 kHz. Throughout this period, WMEX operated as an independent (non-network) station with a program schedule filled with everything from live music remotes to ethnic programming. In the early 1950s, the station featured some notable jazz programming, and the recording of a WMEX-originated Billie Holiday remote broadcast from a Boston club survives.
WMVY (88.7 FM; "Mvyradio") is a non-commercial community-oriented adult album alternative radio station based in the town of Tisbury, Massachusetts and licensed to serve Edgartown, both on the island of Martha's Vineyard. The station is owned by Friends of Mvyradio, Inc.
Mvyradio is one of the most streamed internet radio stations in the world (consistently one of the Top 20 most-listened-to internet radio stations according to Webcast Metrics). Streams are available in multiple formats, including WMA, MP3, and RealAudio, and it is a featured station on Apple's iTunes radio tuner service.
Beginning in 1981 and ending on February 8, 2013, WMVY was a commercial radio station on 92.7 FM in Tisbury. Despite being a class "A" FM signal transmitting from Martha's Vineyard, WMVY was widely listened to in both southeastern Massachusetts (particularly the "upper" portion of Cape Cod) and the area around Newport, Rhode Island (the latter via a translator station on 96.5, W243AI).
[Intro:]
Who Got Tha Clout?
Don't act surprised cuz it's that bitch from the South.
Pumpin' out the N-O.
You don't want no clout.
Who Got Tha Clout?
Don't act surprised cuz it's that bitch from the South.
[1st Verse: Mia X]
Who's 'bout to come?
Who they cleared the way for?
Who all them niggas respect?
Who got them hoes scared to flex?
Well here's a track that gets wrecked.
Who's got the industry hexed?
Well now, it's mama, full of marijuana.
Headline nigga, whatcha' whatcha' want, huh?
You can see them niggas writin' rhymes,
but don't need none, want some.
Hoes run from these here,
who gon still be the boss bitch next year?
Who ain't gotta brag cuz the realness is there?
Who be havin' muthafuckas bucked everywhere?
When you think the biggest mama,
who be on yo' fuckin' mind?
When you hear 'bout it, 'bout it,
who you waitin' for to rhyme?
Whose time is now?
Who you can't doubt?
Who's got clout?
Say my name loud.
