Wizard of the Hood is the second EP by Violent J. Released in 2003, it is the Insane Clown Posse member's first solo release. The EP is a concept album based on The Wizard of Oz, which is retold in an urban setting.
Violent J takes on the role of this story's version of Dorothy, making his way through this strange new land to get back to his home. Along the way, he meets the Scarecrow (Twiztid's Monoxide), who only needs somebody to smoke with, the Tin Man (Twiztid's Jamie Madrox), who wants a "gat", and the Lion (Blaze Ya Dead Homie), who wants some "hoes". Anybody Killa has a brief cameo as a guard in the Wizard's palace as well as fellow Insane Clown Posse member Shaggy 2 Dope appears as the Wizard.
The EP contains nine story tracks and two "bonus tracks". It was also released in a "Collector's Edition" tin which featured two different bonus tracks and a package of "Violent Joint" rolling paper. In a early 2014 interview Violent J said that he would like to do a Wizard Of The Hood show. During ICP's 2014 GOTJ seminar he said that it may happen very soon. On July 24, 2015 during ICP's seminar Violent J said that he would like to do a Wizard of the Hood full album set at the 2016 GOTJ if Twiztid and Blaze Ya Dead Homie are down to do it also. Violent J announced in October, 2015 that they will be performing the whole Wizard of the Hood setlist for GOTJ 17 (2016) complete with changing sets and Twiztid and Blaze Yad dead homie will be on stage to do their parts.
"Wizard of the Hood" is a song by the American hip hop duo Insane Clown Posse. It is the sixth song on their debut album Carnival of Carnage (1992).
"Wizard of the Hood" was originally written by Joe Bruce sometime in the late '80s. Its first appearance was on the Intelligence and Violence EP, by Violent J and D-Lyrical, under the name "Wizard of Delray." The song was recorded on a karaoke machine, like the rest of the EP, thus making it Lo-Fi and slightly distorted. It is track number three on the EP, and is the first time that Faygo was mentioned in a song by Inner City Posse
In 1991, Inner City Posse saved enough money to use a professional record studio. Along with producer Chuck Miller, Inner City Posse re-recorded "Wizard of Delray" with slightly different lyrics and a whole new beat. The song was released on the EP Dog Beats under the new title "Wizard of the Hood." The end of the track features approximately 35 seconds of Yo Mamma jokes.
In late 1991, the Inner City Posse over went a change in genre, style, and look, as well as a name change to become the Insane Clown Posse. On October 18, 1992, Insane Clown Posse's debut album Carnival of Carnage was released. Track number six, "Wizard of the Hood," was the same as the 1991 Dog Beats version except instead of Yo Mamma jokes, the end of the '92 release featured a skit of Shaggy 2 Dope reading poetry before freaking out on a bug.
Hood may refer to:
The Hood (real name Parker Robbins) is a fictional character, a supervillain, and a crime boss in the Marvel Comics Universe.
Created by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artists Kyle Hotz and Eric Powell, The Hood first appeared in his own self-titled MAX limited series in 2002, which featured his origin, as a character who possesses a cloak and boots stolen from a Nisanti demon, which grant him invisibility and limited levitation ability, respectively.
The Hood next appeared in the 2006 miniseries Beyond!, a miniseries set in outer space, which had the character shift towards a slightly more anti-heroic position, as opposed to a villainous one.
Brian Michael Bendis stated in a 2007 Newsarama interview that within the pages of New Avengers, Parker Robbins would be getting similar treatment to Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part II. Bendis says that "...like the Sentry and Echo—the Hood is one of these excellent brand new creations that no one else was touching, and that's how they fall by the wayside."
The Hood is the main villain and adversary of International Rescue in the Thunderbirds TV series.
The name "Hood" was derived from the term "hoodlum"; Gerry Anderson also observed that the character was frequently masked, and that a mask "could be described as a 'hood'."Sylvia Anderson acknowledges that the Hood's appearances became less regular towards the end of the series (the character is absent from the six episodes of Series Two), explaining that, like Kyrano, the character "turned out to be less viable on the screen than on the page." To strengthen the character's antagonistic appearance, the Supermarionation puppet was fitted with an over-sized head and hands.
The Hood's precise origins are unknown. While it is known that he is the half-brother of Kyrano, the precise details of their relationship – such as which parent they share or which of them is the elder – remain a mystery, as does the origin of his mysterious hypnotic powers. Even his real name remains a mystery; throughout the TV series, he is only ever referred to as "Agent Seven-Nine" and "671", and each codename is used on one occasion only ("Agent Seven-Nine" when he is working for "General X", a military officer from an unspecified eastern European country, and "671" when he is working for General Bron). The name "The Hood" is only used once used in the TV episodes; at the end of the episode Edge of impact the General can be heard uttering the word Hood through the speaker of the Hood's vehicle underwater (hence why it is never mentioned in Thunderbirds books or on fan websites). Instead, the name was revealed in spin-off media and tie-in promotional materials.
One time, the ICP with this shit
For you and your boys to say "fuck yeah" to
Yo, G, kick some of that shit about the wizard and all that
Drop a psycho beat and go on and rap, bald-headed fuck
Aw shit, homeboy, you should of seen me
I was flipped at the party drinking a fifth of MD
Straight passed-out on his mother's bed
With seven cans of brew going through my head
Dreaming, I was sipping on Faygo
With my dope posse, hear comes a tornado
Huh, I can't run no where
Cause the whole damn house was spinning through the air (damn!)
And don't laugh just yet
And it bland my motherfucking eyes bet
And here comes a three and a half foot pimp
With a blue zoo suit and a mack daddy limp
Yo, I gotta grip on my weapon
Cuz this midget motherfucker and his boys are stepping
"Oh my, look at the witch
You crushed and killed that wicked old bitch"
And they saying that I'm doomed
Cuz I killed some ho that rides on a broom
Fuck this, I'm going back to where I stay
And I walking down the yellow brick alleyway
Well, go on motherfucker!
Now I'm roaming just like basshead
Everybody know just where the alley led
And don't say you don't know
Which way to go, yo, there go the scarecrow
I ain't playing this bullshit no more
So I whip out the nickel plated double-four
Best tell my ass how to get back
Or I'll blow the straw out your fucking head
You wanna see the wizard?
Fuck yeah, I do
Get me off this pole and I'll come with you
You know the wiz
Yeah, its the road for him
Then he gave me on a 'gene
Now I gotta bullet for him
So me and the crow was walking on bricks
Spitting and cussing and holding our dicks
Thinking, damn, this ain't how the movie goes
I ain't seen one motherfucking rainbow
Ain't a fresh pair of kicks in the land
Just what you thought, there go the tin man
How to get to the wizard?
What the fuck
I ain't saying shit until you oil me up
I don't see any motherfucking oil, bro
Oil me up with a forty of Red Bull
Huh, just like the book said
Tin Man was stumbling like a crackhead
Old-ass rusted out metal
But we was on our way to see the wizard of the ghetto
"Somewhere over the rainbow"
(Shut the) fuck up, bitch
Damn, this ain't Kansas, ho
This is the southwest motherfucking ghetto zone, bitch
So pick your skank ass up
And you and Toto get the fuck on
Yeah, we've come a long way
Drop the motherfuckers all the way to Del Ray
And I'm a wonder land story book tourist
Gripping that .44 we coming up to the forest
Anything could be out there
Lions, tigers, maybe a bear
Hoods and hoodlums and thieves, oh my
I'm a kick somebody in they fuckin' eye
Don't fuck with me at a time like this
I'll send out a bullet guaranteed won't miss
So I just move and the hooks are flying
You've come and buck with the fucking lion
I want rings, chains, any kind of gold
Or what?
Or I'm a let this nine unfold
Man, fuck this, come back to Del Ray
There you can rob motherfuckers any day
Crackheads, hoes, whatever you can name
Catch all the rich ones coming out the ball game (yeah)
So finally we was at the castle
And with the guards, we got no hastle
They all just got the fuck out our way
I guess even in Oz they know of Violent J
Yo, where's the motherfucking wizard stay
Who wants to know? Violent-psychopath-J
I wanna word with him at gun point
Cuz there's no place like Detroit
Welcome to the wizards kingdom
The Wizard of the Ghetto as its said
Welcome to the wizards kingdom
Sorry, motherfucker, this is where you'll stay
Scarecrow, you ain't shit to me
And the lion ain't shit but a snack for three
Tin Man, don't take me for a sucker
I'll chew your ass up and spit bullets out, motherfucker
We let it rain,
Seventy-nine slugs to his fucking brain
Then I stepped back cool and calm
Cuz the Tin Man was dropping cluster bombs
Everybody know about car jacking
So me and the fellas went home macking
Jumped in a smooth-ass ride
Drop top Geo says "Wiz" on the side
Gripped it back to the hood where we came from
And that shit was fun
Next thing I knew I was back at the party
Got up and was finning to tell everybody
But I just let it pass
