Winx (horse)
Winx (foaled 11 September 2011) is an Australian Thoroughbred racehorse.
Background
Winx is a bay mare bred in Australia by Fairway Thoroughbreds. She was sired by the Street Cry who won the Dubai World Cup in 2002 before becoming a very successful breeding stallion in North America and Australasia. His other progeny have included Zenyatta, Street Sense, Shocking and Whobegotyou.
During her racing career she has been owned in partnership by Magic Bloodstock Racing, R G Treweeke and D N Kepitis, and trained by Chris Waller.
Racing career
2013/14: two-year-old season
After two racecourse trials, Winx made her competitive debut on 4 June 2014 and won over 1100 metres at Rosehill Racecourse in Sydney. Later that month, on her second and final race of the season, she won over 1400 metres at Warwick Farm Racecourse.
2014/15: three-year-old season
As a three-year-old, Winx recorded her first major success when she won the Group 2 Furious Stakes over 1200 metres at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney in September. She then finished second to First Seal in both the Tea Rose Stakes and the Flight Stakes before being given a summer break.
Winx Club (season 3)
Season 3 of Winx Club an Italian animated series, premiered on Rai 2 on 29 January 2007 and concluded on 28 March 2007, airing 26 episodes. The season focuses on the girls adventures in their third year at Alfea School of Fairies, where they strive to earn an enhancement to their powers called Enchantix. The Trix escape from their prison and bring back a new villain named Valtor, who has a special connection with Bloom.
The series has been broadcast or syndicated to countries worldwide, with Rai providing an English language dub. In the United States, the show was re-dubbed and edited by 4Kids TV. Season 3 premiered on Fox under the 4Kids TV programming block on 30 September 2006, and concluded on 22 September 2007. Nickelodeon produced their own English localization of the season under the title Winx Club: Enchantix, which ran on their titular channel from 14 November 2011 to 26 December 2011. The episodes have also been made available on home media.
