The term wildlife trust can be used in one of two senses to describe organisations concerned with wildlife:

Lancashire Wildlife Trust

The Lancashire Wildlife Trust or Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside is a wildlife trust covering the county of Lancashire and parts of Greater Manchester and Merseyside in England.

It includes all of the ceremonial county of Lancashire, including the unitary authority districts of Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool; from Greater Manchester the districts of Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford and Wigan; and from Merseyside the districts of Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley and St Helens. It also covers adjacent areas of the Irish Sea including parts of Morecambe Bay and Liverpool Bay.

The trust is part of the Wildlife Trusts partnership, which is the UK's leading conservation charity dedicated to all wildlife. The network of 47 local Wildlife Trusts and its junior branch, Wildlife Watch, work together with local communities to protect wildlife in all habitats across the UK, in towns, countryside, wetlands and seas.

The trust was formed as the Lancashire Naturalists' Trust in 1962 by a group of naturalists who wanted to help protect the wildlife of Lancashire. It is now the leading local environmental charity in this region. Following the local government reforms of 1974 it transferred its remit and tenure in Furness to the newly constituted Cumbria Wildlife Trust. It was renamed the Lancashire Trust for Nature Conservation in 1980, and the Lancashire Wildlife Trust in 1992. The Charity Commission's record also lists The Lancashire Trust for Nature Conservation with Greater Manchester and Merseyside as a former name, and The Wildlife Trust (Lancashire, Manchester, N. Merseyside) as a working name.

EcoHealth Alliance

EcoHealth Alliance, known as Wildlife Trust until 2010, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization headquartered in New York City working on conservation ecology and issues in the United States and around the world.

EcoHealth Alliance is an international organization of scientists dedicated to the conservation of biodiversity. EcoHealth Alliance’s work spans the U.S. and more than 20 countries in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia to research ways for people and wildlife to share ecosystems for their mutual survival. EcoHealth Alliance, a conservation science innovator, specializes in saving biodiversity in human-dominated landscapes where ecological health is most at risk because of habitat loss, species imbalance, pollution and other environmental issues caused by human-induced change.

EcoHealth Alliance was founded in 1971 by British naturalist, author and television personality Gerald Durrell, who is perhaps best known for his many entertaining books based on his life’s work with animals, as well as a dozen series on the BBC. EcoHealth Alliance, has expanded its mission to include not only endangered species conservation and training for local scientists, but also international conservation organization development, resolution of human-wildlife conflicts, integrated conservation and community development projects, as well as a new field linking environment and health – Conservation Medicine.

Wildlife

Wildlife traditionally refers to non-domesticated animal species, but has come to include all plants, fungi, and other organisms that grow or live wild in an area without being introduced by humans.

Wildlife can be found in all ecosystems. Deserts, forests, rain forests, plains, grasslands, and other areas including the most developed urban sites, all have distinct forms of wildlife. While the term in popular culture usually refers to animals that are untouched by human factors, most scientists agree that much wildlife is affected by human activities.

Humans have historically tended to separate civilization from wildlife in a number of ways including the legal, social, and moral sense. Some animals, however, have adapted to suburban environments. This includes such animals as domesticated cats, dogs, mice, and gerbils.Some religions have often declared certain animals to be sacred, and in modern times concern for the natural environment has provoked activists to protest the exploitation of wildlife for human benefit or entertainment.

Wildlife (Anthony Phillips and Joji Hirota album)

Wildlife is the second collaboration between Anthony Phillips and Joji Hirota. The album is culled from recordings made between 1994 and 2000 when Anthony and Joji collaborated on a number of soundtracks for wildlife television programmes in the British Survival series. In addition, Anthony also wrote and recorded the music for a programme in the BBC series Natural World.

Wildlife features selections from the music for the programmes Creatures of the Magic Water (tracks 1-6), Secrets of the Amazon (tracks 7-11), Jaguar: Eater of Souls (tracks 12-13), Serengeti Jigsaw (tracks 14-15), Web of the Spider Monkey (track 16), Dungeons & Dragons (tracks 17-22), Secrets of a Norfolk Wood (tracks 23-25), Bears of the Russian Front (tracks 26-30), Gremlins: Faces in the Forest (track 31), Jurassic Shark (tracks 32-38), and Midway - Island of Life (tracks 39-45).

All programmes represented come from the Survival series except "Midway - Island of Life" which comes from Natural World.

Wildlife (Joe Morris album)

Wildlife is an album by American jazz musician Joe Morris, which was recorded in 2008 and released on the AUM Fidelity label. It was the debut recording by a new group featuring saxophonist Petr Cancura and drummer Luther Gray. Morris plays bass instead of guitar.

Reception

In his review for AllMusic, Phil Freeman states "There's a lot of Ayler in Cancura's tone; he's a powerful player with a strong sense of melody, always retaining an essential cohesion within his solos, even at their most fervid. Gray is all over the kit, guiding the other two men and maintaining a forceful momentum."

The All About Jazz review by Troy Collins says that "The trio embraces a wide range of spatial dynamics on this expansive set, with the majority of their probing explorations conjuring the bristling frenzy of New Thing era expressionism."
