Wildcat! BBS

Wildcat! BBS was a bulletin board system server application that Mustang Software developed in 1986 for DOS, and later ported to Microsoft Windows. It also included special code to run in a DOS box under OS/2. By the release of Version 4 it was the basis for more than 50,000 bulletin board systems worldwide.

The product was later expanded to integrate Internet access under the name WINServer (Wildcat! Interactive Net Server). Mustang sold Wildcat! to Santronics Software, Inc. on November 19, 1998. Santronics had been an active third-party developer for the Wildcat! product lines since 1991.

Classics is the second full-length album from Ratatat, released on August 22, 2006. As with their first album, Classics is almost entirely instrumental, with the only exception being a large cat-like sound sample used in "Wildcat."

During a September 15, 2006 interview on radio station KEXP, the band revealed that part of the album was recorded in upstate New York in a house owned by Björk.

This album produced three singles: "Lex", "Wildcat", and "Loud Pipes".

The track "Tropicana" was featured in the 2007 film "Knocked Up".

    Wildcat (short story)

"Wildcat" is an early short story by the American author Flannery O'Connor. It is one of the six stories included in O'Connor's 1947 master's thesis The Geranium: A Collection of Short Stories and was published posthumously in The North American Review in 1970. It later appeared in the 1971 collection The Complete Stories.

In this story, the main character "Old Gabriel," a blind, elderly African American man, is afraid of a wildcat, which he can supposedly smell. He remembers a story from his childhood of a wildcat killing someone he knew, and does not want to be left alone for fear that it will attack him. The story portrays Gabriel's struggles with his impending death.
