I Want It

I Want It is the debut single released by Chanelle Hayes. Her progress during the making of the song was filmed as the reality TV show Chanelle: Wannabe Popstar shown on VH1 and TMF TV Channels. The official remix video included on the single is the 7th Heaven Radio Mix by Ministry of Sound. The single was released as both a physical CD and download version on Monday 12 May 2008 and entered the Official UK Singles Chart on 18 May 2008.

The 7th Heaven and Club Junkies Remixes of the song reached top 10 in combined DJ club charts. Highest position No.2 in the UK Pop Club Charts (30/04/08) and No.9 in the Upfront Club Charts.

Life After Cash Money is the eighth studio album by American rapper B.G.. It was released on July 27, 2004 on Chopper City Records and Koch Records. The album has production from DJ Smurf, Sinista, Dani Kartel, K.I.D.D., KLC, and more. The album features the single "My World I Want It". There are guest appearances from the Chopper City Boyz, T.I. and Ying Yang Twins.

About the album

B.G.'s rapping skills made money for the Cash Money label before he was a teenager. On 2004's Life after Cash Money, B.G. shows easy vocals gliding over magnificent Dirty South beats. He is no longer affiliated with the record company with which he was practically synonymous in the 1990s (this is his second record for Koch Records).

Like many rappers in the southern states, B.G. blends a sense of humor with a darker worldview, and occasionally leans towards the violent landscapes of the Geto Boys. On the anthemic "Factory." B.G. displays his prowess in lyrical potency while throwing in a reference to his past on "My World I Want It.'" He also proves he can change gears effectively on the semi-lewd, 1970s-inspired, funk-infused ballad "Bust a Move."

Up All Night (One Direction album)

Up All Night is the debut studio album by English-Irish group One Direction, released by Syco Records in November 2011 in Ireland and the United Kingdom, followed by a worldwide release during 2012. Four months after finishing third in the seventh series of British reality singing contest The X Factor in December 2010, One Direction began recording the album in Sweden, UK and the United States, working with a variety of writers and producers. The album is predominantly a pop music album which orientates into pop rock, dance-pop, teen pop and power pop. The album's lyrical content regards being young, relationships, heartbreak and empowerment. Staged in support of the album, One Direction performed the album's songs live on televised shows, at awards ceremonies, and during their worldwide Up All Night Tour.

The album received generally favourable reviews from contemporary music critics, many of whom appreciated the album's combination of melodic song craft and catchy, pop-oriented material that, while slickly produced, avoided the commercial cynicism and adult contemporary posturing of some of their '80s and '90s forebears. An international success, the album topped the charts in sixteen countries and, by December 2012, has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide. The album bowed at number two on the UK Albums Chart and ultimately became the UK's fastest-selling debut album of 2011. Up All Night debuted to number one on the United States Billboard 200, selling 176,000 copies in its first week. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), Up All Night was the third global best-selling album of 2012 with sales of 4.5 million copies.

Department S (band)

Department S are a British new wave band formed in 1980, who took their name from the 1960s TV series Department S. They are best known for their debut single, "Is Vic There?", which was originally released in December 1980 and reached No. 22 on the UK Singles Chart the following year.

Career

1980s

Department S evolved from a previous punk/ska combo, Guns for Hire, fronted by Vaughn Toulouse and also featuring former Madness drummer John Hasler. Mike Herbage joined them on guitar and wrote Guns for Hire's only single, "I'm Gonna Rough My Girlfriend's Boyfriend Up Tonight", released on the Korova record label. The group then became Department S, with the addition of Eddie Roxy (later replaced by Mark Taylor) and Stuart Mizon.

They debuted at the Rock Garden in London on 24 September 1980.Demon Records subsequently released their debut single, "Is Vic There?", in December 1980 (reissued on RCA a few months later). It was produced by former Mott the Hoople members Buffin and Overend Watts, but its initial success led to the better-equipped RCA Records reissuing the single in March 1981. The single then began to climb the charts, and the band appeared on Top of the Pops. The B-side, a cover version of T.Rex's "Solid Gold Easy Action", featured Thunderthighs on backing vocals.

Cord (charity)

Cord is a peacebuilding charity working with people and communities affected by violent conflict in Africa and Asia. Established in 1967 and located in Leamington Spa, UK, Cord works by "carrying out practical work relieving poverty and promoting social cohesion to build peace, working with people and communities of all faiths or none".

Peacebuilding projects include water and sanitation, education, women's empowerment and capacity building.

The organisation currently works in Burundi, Cambodia, Chad, Laos and Myanmar combining its efforts with the support of individuals, schools, churches, trusts, companies, the British Government, the European Union and the United Nations.

Cord took an active part in gathering support for the victims of the Darfur conflict and are still working with over 250,000 Sudanese who are living in the refugee camps of Eastern Chad.

Cord's Ambassador is BBC Midlands Today presenter, Sarah Falkland. The charity's patrons include British Member of Parliament Chris White and author Gillian Cross. Cord’s Chief Executive is Mark Simmons. Cord is a member of People In Aid, a global network of development and humanitarian assistance agencies which promote, support and recognise good practice in the management of aid personnel.

Cord (unit)

The cord is a unit of measure of dry volume used to measure firewood and pulpwood in the United States and Canada.

A cord is the amount of wood that, when "racked and well stowed" (arranged so pieces are aligned, parallel, touching and compact), occupies a volume of 128 cubic feet (3.62 m³). This corresponds to a well-stacked woodpile 4 feet (122 cm) high, 8 feet (244 cm) long, and 4 feet (122 cm) deep; or any other arrangement of linear measurements that yields the same volume.

The name cord probably comes from the use of a cord or string to measure it.

In Canada, the cord is legally defined by Measurement Canada. The cord is one of three legal standards for the sale of firewood in Canada (stacked cubic metre, cubic foot, and cord). However the stacked cubic metre is now the preferred unit of measurement.

In the United States, the cord is defined by statute in most states. The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology Handbook 130, section 2.4.1.2, defines a cord and provides uniform regulations for the sale of fireplace and stove wood. In the metric system, wood is usually measured in steres and cubic metres: 1 stere = 1 m³ ≈ 0.276 cords.
