Nathan Harrell East (born December 8, 1955, Philadelphia) is a jazz, R&B and rock bass player and vocalist. With more than 2,000 recordings, East is considered one of the most recorded bass players in the history of music. East holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of California, San Diego (1978). He is a founding member of contemporary jazz quartet Fourplay and has recorded, performed and co-written songs with performers such as Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Joe Satriani, George Harrison, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Toto, Daft Punk, and Herbie Hancock.
Born to Thomas and Gwendolyn East, he is one of eight children (five boys and three girls) raised in San Diego, where the family moved when he was four. East first studied cello in seventh through ninth grades and played in local Horace Mann junior high school's orchestra. At age fourteen he developed an interest in the bass guitar, playing in church (Christ The King) for folk masses with his brothers Raymond and David. He was active in his (Crawford) high school's music programs along with a local top 40 band called "Power". He has said his early influences included Charles Mingus, Ray Brown and Ron Carter on upright bass; and James Jamerson, Paul McCartney and Chuck Rainey on electric bass. He studied music at UC San Diego. Nathan East is also an accomplished amateur magician member of the Magic Circle and the Academy of Magical Arts.
Nathan East is the debut eponymous album by veteran supporting musician Nathan East, known for his performances with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel and Daft Punk. This album features guest vocal performances by Clapton, Sara Bareilles, Michael McDonald, and a harmonica performance by Wonder on the instrumental cover of Wonder's hit "Overjoyed". East has also included a second Wonder instrumental cover, a reimagining of the Songs in the Key of Life song "Sir Duke".
As East is not a vocalist and is best known for his bass guitar skills, the album contains many bass guitar led melodies. The cover of the 1965 Beatles song "Yesterday" features East's son Noah East on piano. While largely an album of covers, including those of East's band Fourplay and Steve Winwood's "Can't Find My Way Home", which East had previous played on tours with Clapton, there are also original works, such as "Daft Funk", a play on words on East's work with French group Daft Punk, and "Madiba", a tribute to former South African president Nelson Mandela.
"White Room" is a song by British rock band Cream, written by bassist Jack Bruce and poet Pete Brown.Drummer Ginger Baker claims to have added the distinctive 5/4 opening to what had been a 4/4 composition. It originally appeared on the US release of their double album Wheels of Fire in July 1968 and was released as a single in September 1968. It is one of their most famous songs, along with Sunshine of Your Love.
The single reached the top 30 in seven countries, including Australia, where it topped the Go-Set National Top 40 singles chart. The song was edited for the single release on AM radio stations, although album-oriented FM radio stations would play the full album version.
The recording of "White Room" reportedly began in July 1967 in London at the initial session for Cream’s as-yet-unnamed third album and work continued at Atlantic Studios in New York in December and finished during three separate sessions to complete the studio part of Wheels of Fire; February, April and June 1968, all at Atlantic Studios.
White Room is a Canadian drama film, released in 1990, written and directed by Patricia Rozema, starring Maurice Godin, Kate Nelligan and Sheila McCarthy. Ziggy Lorenc and Erika Ritter also have cameo appearances in the film as interviewers.

A service structure, or supply tower or launch tower, is a structure built on a rocket launch pad to facilitate fueling and loading of cargo and crew into a spacecraft.
A supply tower also usually includes an elevator which allows maintenance and crew access. Immediately before ignition of the rocket's motors, all connections between the tower and the craft are severed, and the bridges over which these connections pass often quickly swing away to prevent damage to the structure or vehicle. In contrast with launch towers, service structure towers do not guide rockets as they lift off.
Service structures generally consist of fixed components and mobile ones.
The structures at the Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39 pads include a rotating service structure that is moved in place around the shuttle stack for the period of time that the space craft sits on the pad prior to launch, usually several weeks. That structure is rotated back out of the way several hours prior to the launch while the fixed service structure remains in place at all times.
In the white room with black curtains near the station.
Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.
Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes.
Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment.
I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines;
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.
You said no strings could secure you at the station.
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows.
I walked into such a sad time at the station.
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning.
I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back;
Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves.
At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten.
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings.
I'll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd;
