Where'd You Go (Fort Minor song)

"Where'd You Go" is a song by American hip hop ensemble Fort Minor, the side project of rock band Linkin Park's co-lead vocalist Mike Shinoda. It is the fourth and final single from Fort Minor's debut album The Rising Tied, released on April 14, 2006. The song features Skylar Grey (then known as Holly Brook) and Jonah Matranga. "Where'd You Go" was written and produced by Shinoda. Lyrically, the song is from the perspective of the person left behind in long-distance relationships, and is about the consequences of putting one's career before one's family.

"Where'd You Go" received generally positive reviews from music critics, with most reviewers noting the song's simplicity, as well as praising Brook's vocals. "Where'd You Go" was Fort Minor's most commercially successful single, peaking within the top ten of several international music charts. "Where'd You Go" also peaked at No. 4 in the Billboard Hot 100 and received a Platinum certification by the RIAA in 2009. A music video for the single was directed by Philip Andelman. The video featured three families, who, according to Shinoda, "share the same sense of loneliness as this song." "Where'd You Go" was included in the set list of numerous Fort Minor concerts.

Where'd You Go? (EP)

Where'd You Go? is an EP by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones released in 1991 by Taang! Records. It features the title track, "Where'd You Go?" which also appeared on their 1992 LP, More Noise and Other Disturbances. The video for the song was shot in Boston and received minor MTV airplay. The EP also features cover versions of Aerosmith's "Sweet Emotion", Metallica's "Enter Sandman", and Van Halen's "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love" as well as an updated version of "Do Something Crazy", which previously appeared on The Mighty Mighty Bosstones' debut album, Devil's Night Out. A rerecorded version was included as a playable song in the 2008 video game, Rock Band 2.

Dinosaur Jr.

Dinosaur Jr. is an American rock band formed in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1984, originally simply called Dinosaur until legal issues forced a change in name.

The band was founded by J Mascis (guitar, vocals, primary songwriter), Lou Barlow (bass, vocals), and Murph (drums). After three albums on independent labels earned the band a reputation as one of the formative influences on American alternative rock, creative tension led to Mascis firing Barlow, who later formed Sebadoh and Folk Implosion. His replacement, Mike Johnson came aboard for three major-label albums. Murph eventually quit, with Mascis taking over drum duties on the band's albums before the group disbanded in 1997. The original lineup reformed in 2005, releasing three albums thereafter.

Mascis's drawling vocals and distinct guitar sound, hearkening back to 1960s and '70s classic rock and characterized by extensive use of feedback and distortion, were highly influential in the alternative rock movement of the 1990s.
