Secondcity

Rowan John Harrington (born 28 January 1987), better known by his stage name Secondcity, is an American-born British DJ and producer, best known for his song "I Wanna Feel", which peaked to number 1 on the UK Singles Chart.

Career

Early beginnings

Harrington was part of the house duo Taiki & Nulight before leaving to focus on his solo career. His production partner, Erka Chinbayar, has now changed the alias to Taiki Nulight and continues to produce under the moniker.

2014–present: Breakthrough

In May 2014 he released his debut single "I Wanna Feel", the song was at number one on the official midweek BBC Radio 1 singles charts after being released on 25 May 2014 and has over 14,000,000 views on YouTube. On 1 June 2014 the song entered the UK Singles Chart and the UK Dance Chart at number 1. He has since been championed by Disclosure and collaborated with Route 94 for the third time. The follow-up single to "I Wanna Feel", titled "What Can I Do", premiered on 26 July 2014 and features vocals from Ali Love.

What Can I Do (The Black Belles song)

What Can I Do is a single by The Black Belles released on Third Man Records for the 'Blue Series' of Third Man Records. It also features a cover of The Knickerbockers song Lies.

Music Video

A video was made for the song which features them playing the song in black and white. There was also a video for lies entitled Lies (lost video) which shows them in the same clothes and set playing lies. They were both directed by Jack White

What Can I Do (The Corrs song)

"What Can I Do" is a song by Irish band The Corrs, from their breakthrough album Talk on Corners (1998). The song was originally released in January 1998, but later re-released in August that year in a remixed form by Tin Tin Out, which generated more attention. The song became one of the band's most known hits worldwide, but their charting success was limited, due to the time of the shooting of the video. The song received generally favorable to mixed reviews from music critics, who some felt it wasn't as strong as their previous songs. The song had moderate charting success. An accompanying music video was released, but was a very quick video, as the video was shot on their world tour at the same time. The music video was shot in New Zealand.

Background

The Corrs played this song at the Gala for the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize. The original version is a more slow doo-wop style song, which is much lighter. However, the re-release was a more guitar rifted song, which was a more pop rock and country style. The voice range is a chord of A mj and spans from G#3 to C#5. Mostly, the Tin Tin Out version was used mostly in the song than the original. But to be correct, there are three official versions of the song. The first being the single version, which didn't generate as much attention. The second version was the Tin Tin Out remix, which was more successful in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. And a third version was the Talk on Corners and the LP version, which doesn't feature any main vocals in it.

I Do (2012 American film)

I Do is an American drama film, released in 2012. Directed by Glenn Gaylord and written and produced by David W. Ross, the film stars Ross as Jack Edwards, a gay artist from England living and working in New York City. Following the death of his brother Peter (Grant Bowler), he enters into a green card marriage with his lesbian best friend Ali (Jamie-Lynn Sigler) so that he can stay in the country to help his widowed sister-in-law Mya (Alicia Witt), but is then forced to confront the unequal status of same-sex marriage as he meets and falls in love with Mano (Maurice Compte).

The film premiered at Los Angeles' Outfest on July 18, 2012, and was screened at several LGBT and mainstream film festivals in late 2012 and early 2013. It had a general theatrical release on May 31, 2013.

I Do (Jamelia song)

"I Do" is the second single from British R&B artist Jamelia. "I Do" was the first single from her debut album Drama and was her first UK top 40 hit, peaking at #36 on the UK Singles Chart. The Spanish Mix has Slum Village rapping on it as well as a UK rapper named Dubwise (Junior Williams). The track was originally remixed with only Dubwise rapping. Although Dubwise's rap was great, he was largely unknown. So it was suggested that an American rap group may help to further the success of the single. So Slum Village was chosen to rap on it. After they heard Dubwise's rap, they suggested that at least one of his verses should remain, in respect of his efforts. Dubwise's verse appears in between two members of Slum Village's raps, near the end of the track and begins with "now if you really wanna score.........."
