WGAN (560 kHz) is an American AM radio station licensed to Portland, Maine. The station is owned by Saga Communications and calls itself "Newsradio 560 and 105.5." The format is news/talk, with local news being provided by a local staff and national news provided by ABC Radio News.
The station is also heard on a low-power FM translator, 105.5, which allows listeners who prefer FM radio to hear WGAN in and around the city of Portland. In addition, WGAN is heard on the HD2 channel of co-owned 93.1 WMGX. WGAN is simulcast on WGIN AM 1400 Biddeford for better coverage in York County, Maine. AM 560 broadcasts at 5000 watts around the clock, covering much of Southern Maine and along the Maine Coast up to Rockland. Studios and offices are located on Western Avenue in South Portland and the transmitter is near the Maine Turnpike off Warren Avenue in Portland.
WGAN airs a local wake-up show, with syndicated programs the rest of the day. Weekdays begin at 5 a.m. with The WGAN Morning News with Ken and Mike. At 9 a.m., Glenn Beck is heard followed at noon by Rush Limbaugh. Boston-based but Portland-born Howie Carr is heard in afternoons. At 7 p.m., WGAN airs Mark Levin and at 10 p.m., it's John Batchelor. Overnight, WGAN carries Coast to Coast AM with George Noory.
