West Park can refer to:

Taiye Lake

Taiye Lake or Pond was an artificial lake in imperial City, Beijing during the Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties of China. The beauty and utility of the lake was responsible for the siting of Kublai Khan's palace and the position of modern Beijing. It continues to exist but it is now known separately as the "North", "Central", and "South Sea"s, the three interconnected lakes just west of the Forbidden City in downtown Beijing. The northern lake makes up the public Beihai Park while the southern two are grouped together as Zhongnanhai, the headquarters for the Communist leadership of the People's Republic of China.

Taiye Lake was immortalized in the early 1410s when the Yongle Emperor commissioned The Eight Views of Beijing (北京八景圖), recording the capital's chief sites in poetry and painting in order to legitimize his removal of the imperial capital away from Nanjing. It is best remembered in China today from the scene of "Clear Waves at Taiye Lake" (太液清柭, Taiye Qingbo).

Name

The literal meaning of the Chinese characters 太液池 is "Great Liquid Pool" or "Pond".

West Park (RTA Rapid Transit station)

West Park is a station on the RTA Red Line in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. It is located off Lorain Avenue just west of West 143rd Street in the West Park neighborhood

The station includes a large parking lot accessible from Lorain Avenue. The access road has been named Lloyd Peterson Lane. A station lobby building is located on the southeast side of the parking lot adjacent to the tracks. The station headhouse includes bus loading areas and also houses a training facility, which opened in 1983. The headhouse is connected to the platforms by a tunnel extending underneath the westbound track.

History

The CTS Rapid Transit was extended to West Park station on November 15, 1958, and the station functioned as the western terminus of the line for 10 years. There was a small rail yard just southwest of the station. When the line was extended to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in 1968, the yard was removed and a new yard was built just beyond Brookpark station. The station building was connected to the platform by a tunnel extending under the westbound track.
