Wells Fargo Arena (Dothan, Alabama)

Coordinates: 31°8′29.45″N 85°24′28.78″W / 31.1415139°N 85.4079944°W / 31.1415139; -85.4079944 Wells Fargo Arena (formerly Ameris Arena) is a 3,000-seat indoor arena located in Dothan, Alabama. It is part of the National Peanut Festival complex, and is used for sporting events including rodeos. It is also used for concerts.

Wells Fargo Arena is unique in that its sides have no walls; the arena's stands are built of aluminum. The arena takes up 60,000 square feet (5,600 m²) of space and contains a dirt floor.

Wells Fargo Arena (Tempe, Arizona)

Wells Fargo Arena (formerly ASU Activity Center) is a 14,000-seat multi-purpose arena at 634 E Veterans Way in Tempe, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona.

Constructed in the spring of 1974 as the ASU Activity Center and at the cost of $8 million, the facility also plays host to graduation ceremonies and a variety of concerts and shows. The building replaced Sun Devil Gym as the primary arena for the Sun Devils' basketball team.

Naming rights for the arena were purchased by Wells Fargo & Co. in 1997.

Design

The structure is 403 feet long, 340 feet wide and six stories high. The structure contains offices and locker rooms for Arizona State basketball teams, along with space for weight training, a training room and an equipment room.

Events

It is home to multiple Arizona State University athletics teams including men's and women's basketball as well as volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling.

Following the mergers, the company transferred its headquarters to Wells Fargo's headquarters in San Francisco and merged its operating subsidiary with Wells Fargo's operating subsidiary in Sioux Falls.

Wells Fargo (1937) is an American Western film directed by Frank Lloyd and starring Joel McCrea, Bob Burns and Frances Dee. This is the third of four movies in which real life husband and wife McCrea and Dee starred together.

It was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Sound (Loren L. Ryder).

Plot

In the early 1840s, Wells & Fargo employee Ramsay MacKay (Joel McCrea) comes upon a broken down carriage in the countryside and gives belle Justine Pryor (Frances Dee) and her mother (Mary Nash) a lift into Buffalo, New York, though he warns them he is in a hurry to make a delivery of fresh oysters. The ladies endure a very bumpy ride, and he arrives in time to enable his employer, Henry Wells (Henry O'Neill), to impress some bankers with the speed of his service.

Wells sends him to set up a branch office in St. Louis, which is quite convenient, as the Pryors reside there. MacKay and Justine begin seeing each other, though her mother disapproves, as does Justine's more socially prominent suitor, Talbot Carter (Johnny Mack Brown).

Scheels Arena

Scheels Arena (formerly called The Urban Plains Center, or UPC) is a multi-purpose venue located in Fargo, North Dakota. It is part of the Sanford Health Athletic Park which consists of the arena, Family Wellness Center (a partnership between Sanford Health and the YMCA), Sanford POWER Athletic Center, and there are plans to add four additional ice sheets. It was constructed and opened in 2008 and renamed in 2010 after Scheels All Sports purchased the naming rights. The arena seats up to 6,000 for concerts, over 5,000 for ice hockey, and features 40 suites and 300 club seats. It features an NHL-sized ice sheet. The main tenant of the arena is the Fargo Force who play in the United States Hockey League.

Other Scheels Arena events include Fargo-Moorhead high school hockey, the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championships, Max fights, the 2011 US Curling Nationals for both men and women, the 2014 United States Olympic Curling Trials, rodeos, and concerts.

The North Dakota State Bison men's basketball team will play their home games at the Scheels Arena for the 2014–15 and 2015–16 seasons whilst a new arena is refurbished
