Rebecca St. James

Rebecca Jean Fink (née Smallbone; born 26 July 1977), known professionally as Rebecca Jean or Rebecca St. James is an Australian Christian pop rock singer, songwriter, musician, author, and actress. She began performing in Australia in the late 1980s and released her first full-length studio album in 1991. She was signed to ForeFront Records in 1993 and released her major label debut the following year.

St. James rose to fame in the late 1990s with her RIAA certified Gold albums God and Pray, the latter of which won a Grammy Award in 2000 for Best Rock Gospel Album. The albums spawned multiple singles, including "God", "Pray", and "Yes, I Believe in God". Since then she has established herself as one of the most prominent musical artists in Contemporary Christian music (CCM), with four additional full-length studio albums: Transform, Worship God, If I Had One Chance to Tell You Something, and I Will Praise You. Staple songs such as "Wait for Me", "Reborn", "Song of Love", "I Thank You", "Alive", and "Shine Your Glory Down", have all been derived from these releases. She has sold two million albums since starting her career.

Rebecca St. James is the second album by then-teenage Christian pop rock artist Rebecca St. James. It was released on 24 January 1994 by ForeFront Records. This is the only album by St. James that was produced by Bill Deaton.

St. James (LIRR station)

Saint James is a historic station on the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. The station is located on Lake Avenue and Railroad Avenue, just south of New York State Route 25A in St. James, Suffolk County, New York. The LIRR gives the address as being at Lake Avenue and Second Street, however Second Street is across the tracks and terminates at Lake Avenue on the opposite side of a parking lot for a King Kullen shopping center. This train station is in the Smithtown Central School District.

History

Built in 1873 by Calvin L'Hommedieu for the Smithtown and Port Jefferson Railroad in the northern part of the Town of Smithtown, it remains the second-oldest existing station-house of the Long Island Rail Road, surpassed only by Hewlett Station, which was originally built in 1869 by the South Side Railroad of Long Island. When the Flowerfield station to the east was abandoned in 1958, the commuters who previously used that depot at the Gyrodyne Company of America were redirected to the St. James and Stony Brook, New York depots. Until 1964, the station also contained an express house and an outhouse, both of which were demolished along with some trees to make room for an expanded parking lot, much to the chagrin of the community. The station is located within the Saint James District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Saint James (VTA)

Saint James is a light rail station operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. The station is located in Downtown San Jose, California on 1st and 2nd Streets between Saint James and Saint John Streets. The northbound platform is on 1st Street (the address is 150 N. First Street); the southbound platform is on 2nd Street (the address is 101 N. Second Street). Saint James is served by both the Alum Rock–Santa Teresa and Mountain View–Winchester light rail lines. The platforms at Saint James station are separated by the western half of the historic Saint James Park.

Saint James station was renovated in 2006 to permit level entry at all doors.

St. James (provincial electoral district)

St. James is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba.

Historical riding

The original St. James riding was established at the province's creation in 1870, and lasted until the election of 1879. It was located in what was then a separate community on Winnipeg's periphery.

Modern riding

The modern St. James riding was created by redistribution in 1957, and has formally existed since the provincial election of 1958. The riding is located in the western section of Winnipeg.

St. James is bordered on the east by Wellington, Minto and Wolseley, to the south by Tuxedo, to the north by Wellington and Lakeside, and to the west by Assiniboia and Kirkfield Park.

The riding's population in 1996 was 20,417. In 1999, the average family income was $47,842, and the unemployment rate was 6.20%. Almost 19% of St. James's population is over 65 years of age, and almost 38% of dwelling units are rented.

The service sector accounts for 15% of St. James's industry, following by government services (14%) and manufacturing (13%).

St. James (electoral district)

St. James was a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1892 to 1952.

The riding was created in 1892 from parts of Montreal Centre and Montreal East ridings. It consisted initially of St. James's Ward and the East Ward in the city of Montreal. In 1914, it was expanded to include Lafontaine Ward of the city of Montreal. After 1924, it was defined with reference to streets in Montreal.

In 1947, the riding was abolished when it was redistributed into a new St. James riding, and the ridings of Lafontaine, Laurier, Papineau and St. Mary.

The new St. James electoral district was abolished in 1952 when it was redistributed into Laurier and Saint-Jacques ridings.
