We Own the Night Tour

The We Own the Night Tour is the third and final concert tour by American band Selena Gomez & the Scene, in support of their third studio album, When the Sun Goes Down.

Background

On March 23, 2011, Hollywood Records announced through a press release that Selena Gomez & The Scene would be touring in the United States during the summer of 2011. The first show confirmed was at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, Calif, while sales started on April 2, 2011. "I am so excited to see my incredible fans on tour," Gomez said in a statement, that confirmed the tour name as We Own the Night Tour. "We're working on a great production and set lists including some surprise covers. I want to make sure everyone has a fun time."

The surprise cover was later revealed to be a tribute to American recording artist Britney Spears. Gomez further stated that Spears' Dream Within a Dream Tour was the first concert she attended. Nearly 30 tour dates were confirmed a few days later. When asked about the tour, Gomez stated.

We Own the Night is a 2007 American crime drama film written and directed by James Gray and starring Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall. It is the third film directed by Gray, and the second to feature Phoenix and Wahlberg together, the first being The Yards.

The title comes from the motto of the NYPD's Street Crimes Unit, which disbanded in 2002.

The film premiered May 25, at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. It was released October 12, 2007 in the United States and Canada. It was released in the United Kingdom on December 14, 2007 and in Australia on February 28, 2008.

Plot

In 1988 in Brooklyn, New York, Bobby Green (Joaquin Phoenix) is the manager of the successful El Caribe nightclub in Brighton Beach that is frequented by Russian black market gangster and drug lord Vadim Nezhinski (Alex Veadov), and owned by Marat Buzhayev, Vadim's uncle and Bobby's boss.

Bobby has distanced himself from his father, NYPD Deputy Chief Burt Grusinsky (Robert Duvall), and his brother, Captain Joseph Grusinsky (Mark Wahlberg). He uses the maiden name of his mother, Carol Green, as his last name, preferring to remain on the sidelines and enjoy a hedonistic life with his girlfriend Amada Juarez (Eva Mendes) and best friend Louis "Jumbo" Falsetti (Danny Hoch).

"We Own the Night" is a song by British-Irish boy band The Wanted, released as the fourth single from their third studio album, Word of Mouth (2013). The single was released on 11 August 2013, with an impact date of 1 September 2013. The song was written and produced by Nasri and Adam Messinger of The Messengers along with Sir Nolan. The song used as the official theme for the 2013 film The Wolverine.

Music video

The music video premiered on 11 August 2013, at a total length of three minutes and thirty-seven seconds. It has since gathered over 23 million views on Vevo. It features The Wanted in a pub, dancing with their friends and drinking alcohol. Nathan Sykes is seen sitting at the piano, Tom Parker is seen playing the acoustic guitar, Max George is seen socialising with a group of girls, and Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran are at the bar, talking to the barmaid and dancing.
