The phone call comes
It’s sad news
A soul has passed away
The world stands still
It’s all changed
There’s nothing we can say
So we cry for those of us left behind
We cry to ease the pain
We cry because there are no words
To make us whole again
We cry to god, what have you done?
We cry cause we don’t understand
We cry for all the injustice
We cry for every man
We read the daily papers
The news is always sad
How can we see a peaceful world?
With our heads stuck in Western sand
We cry for the families of soldiers
We cry cause we can’t say goodbye
We cry and it makes us stronger
We cry and we cry and we cry
We cry for little Rosa Jane
We cry it’s so unfair
We cry for all the life she’ll live
Without her Daddy there
But life calls us back to the living
We try to carry on
And keep alive the memory
Of loved ones who are gone
We cry for fatherless children
We cry for widowed girls
We cry for all the suffering
On this mortal coil
We cry to staunch a bleeding heart
We cry in loneliness
We cry cause we know someday soon
It’ll be our death
We cry cause we are angry
We cry cause we don’t believe
We cry for the fear of loving
We cry cause we all will leave
