WAZZ

WAZZ (1490 AM, "Sunny 94.3") is an adult standards radio station in Fayetteville, North Carolina, owned by Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc., playing "Soft Hits Radio the way it WAZZ".

Programming

The station currently employs an adult standards format and carries sports programming from the Campbell Fighting Camels (NCAA) and Charlotte Bobcats (NBA). The station is also an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves radio network, the largest radio affiliate network in Major League Baseball.

History

WFLB signed on February 18, 1948 with John M. Croft as general manager. WFLB was a commercial radio station in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Significant local programs produced by the station included 3-B Time, with disc jockey Bill Bowser, in 1948.

In the 1950s, the station signed on a TV outlet, WFLB-TV 18, which folded later in the 1950s.

Starting in the mid-50s, WFLB played what was called Top 40.

Newsman Johnny Joyce was the leading radio news anchor in Fayetteville. He worked at WFLB (AM) until the late '70s where he joined WFAI (AM).

Bratz

Bratz is an American product line of fashion dolls and merchandise manufactured by MGA Entertainment. Four original 10 inch dolls were released in 2001 – Yasmin, Cloe, Sasha, and Jade. They featured almond-shaped eyes adorned with eyeshadow, and lush, glossy lips. Bratz reached great success and the original line of dolls was expanded with a number of spin-offs like Bratz Kidz, and Bratz Babyz, as well as media featuring the Bratz characters, including a movie, TV series, music albums and video games. In 2005, global sales were two billion dollars and by 2006 Bratz had about forty percent of the fashion-doll market.

Bratz dolls have provoked controversy in several areas. From the dolls' stylized proportions to fashion-forward clothing, the brand has always followed pop culture trends closely. For years, MGA Entertainment was involved in a lengthy legal dispute with Mattel over the rights to the Bratz design. In 2011, the dispute ended with MGA as the victors. Related litigation is ongoing in a lawsuit by MGA alleging Mattel's theft of trade secrets.

Bratz is a 2007 American musical live-action comedy film based on the Bratz line of cartoon characters and dolls. The film is directed by Sean McNamara and stars Nathalia Ramos, Skyler Shaye, Logan Browning, and Janel Parrish.

Plot

Four teenage friends — Cloe, Yasmin, Sasha, and Jade — are about to start high school. Self-centered Meredith Baxter Dimly wants everyone to belong to a clique, and goes about organizing students. She does not like the independent spirit of the four girls and plots to destroy their friendship and make them conform to her pre-fabricated cliques. Cloe is an amazing soccer player. She meets Cameron and is instantly smitten. Sasha is recruited as a cheerleader. Jade joins the science club, meets Dexter, and designs great outfits. Yasmin joins journalism, even though her real passion is singing even though she hasn't realized yet. She also feels lonely as her friends are busy with their own cliques. She also meets Dylan, who is deaf but can lip read. The friends begin to drift apart, as they are compelled to stay within their cliques.
