Residential colleges at Australian Universities adopt a variety of titles for their heads. Those colleges established by the Anglican Church use the title Warden more commonly, but it is also adopted by colleges established by other denominations and those with no religious affiliation.

In Canadian English, the term college usually refers to a technical, applied arts, or applied science school. These are post-secondary institutions granting certificates, diplomas, associate's degree, and bachelor's degrees.

Terminology

In English Canada, the term "college" is usually used to refer to technical schools that offer specialized professional or vocational education in specific employment fields. They include colleges of applied arts and technology, colleges of applied sciences, etc.

In Ontario and Alberta, and formerly in British Columbia, there are also institutions which are designated university colleges, as they only grant under-graduate degrees. This is to differentiate between universities, which have both under-graduate and graduate programs and those that do not. There is a distinction between "college" and "university" in Canada. In conversation, one specifically would say either "They are going to university" (i.e., studying for a three- or four-year degree at a university) or "They are going to college" (suggesting a technical or career college).

College (TV series)

College is a 1990 Italian comedy television series, based on the 1983/4 film College. It aired on Tuesdays at 20.30 in Italy from March 6 to June 5, 1990 for a total of 14 episodes. The episodes were directed by Lorenzo Castellano and Federico Moccia. The music for the series was provided by Claudio Simonetti. The female lead in the series is Federica Moro, Miss Italy, while her male counterpart, and her boyfriend, is Keith Van Hoven.

The college featured in the series is located near the Naval Academy in the heart of Tuscany. The show was produced by Reteitalia and had excellent results in the ratings, with a peak of 6 million viewers per episode. It has since been re-run on numerous satellite channels.

College is a St. Louis MetroLink Red Line station serving Southwestern Illinois College in Saint Clair County, Illinois. The station is east of Belleville, Illinois on Illinois Route 161 and west of Scott Air Force Base.

Warden (TTC)

Warden is a station on the Bloor–Danforth line in Toronto, Canada. It is located at the southeast corner of St. Clair Avenue East and Warden Avenue.

The main pedestrian street entrance is on the east side of Warden, with another entrance from St. Clair along a walkway on the west side of the elevated tracks. Vehicle entry to the passenger pick up and drop off entrance is on the south side of St. Clair, east of Warden, exiting on to Warden south of St. Clair.

The station is on four levels, the subway platform is on the upper floor, the bus concourse to the connecting routes are below it, the two collector entrances and the concourse are found above street level, and the two entrances and the bus platforms are on the lower floor.

1,071 parking spaces are located at this station for commuter use, with 920 in the North Lot and 151 in the South Lot.

History

Warden Station was opened in 1968 in what was then the Borough of Scarborough, and served as the Bloor-Danforth line's eastern terminus for 12 years until the extension to Kennedy was completed in 1980.

Masonic lodge officers

This article relates to mainstream Craft Freemasonry, sometimes known as Blue Lodge Freemasonry. Every Masonic Lodge elects or appoints Masonic Lodge Officers to execute the necessary functions of the lodge's life and work. The precise list of such offices may vary between the jurisdictions of different Grand Lodges, although certain factors are common to all, and others are usual in most.

All of the lodges in a given nation, state, or region are united under the authority of a Grand Lodge sovereign to its own jurisdiction. Most of the lodge offices listed below have equivalent offices in the Grand Lodge, but with the addition of the word "Grand" somewhere in the title. For example, every lodge has an officer called the "Junior Warden", whilst the Grand Lodge has a "Grand Junior Warden" (sometimes "Junior Grand Warden"). A very small number of offices may exist only at the Grand Lodge level — such offices are included at the end of this article.

There are few universal rules common to all Grand Lodge jurisdictions of Freemasonry (see Masonic Landmarks for accepted universal principles of regular Freemasonry). However, the structure of the progressive offices is very nearly universal. While the precise hierarchy or order of various officers within the "line" of officers may vary, the usual progression is for a lodge officer to spend either one or two years in each position, advancing through "the chairs", until he is elected as Worshipful Master. In addition, there are some offices that are traditionally not considered to be part of the "line", and which may be held by the same brother for many years, or may be reserved for Past Masters.
