Personal Trainer: Walking, known in PAL regions as Walk with me! Do you know your walking routine? and in Japan as Aruite Wakaru Seikatsu Rhythm DS (歩いてわかる 生活リズムDS?), is an exergaming application developed by Nintendo NSD (Network Service Development, Nintendo Co., Ltd.) and Creatures Inc. for the Nintendo DS. The pedometer accessory was developed in-house at Nintendo NSD, while the software portion was developed in conjunction with Nintendo NSD, Creatures inc., and Engines.

It is part of both Nintendo's Touch! Generations and Personal Trainer series.[1]

Overview [link]

Personal Trainer: Walking allows up to four users to track their walking, jogging or running activities through a series of graphs, charts and statistics, as well as set goals for themselves. The game is packaged with two wireless pedometers that communicate to the game the user's walking data. Additional pedometers will be sold separately.[2][3]

The game uses Miis to track each user's progress, and allows users to either create a Mii in-game (A first for the Nintendo DS), or wirelessly transfer an existing Mii from a Wii console's Mii Channel to their Nintendo DS.[4] The game also features a number of minigames to unlock, and users can also upload their data online via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to add to weekly leaderboards and a world step count that plots a virtual trek across the solar system.[5]

Reception [link]

Official Nintendo Magazine scored the game 75%, noting the health benefits of exercising and addictiveness of following statistics, but also noted the inherent pointlessness of the game.[6]

The game sold 26,000 copies in its first week of release in Japan.[7]

  • Walk with Me (album)

Walk with Me is the third and final studio album by British R&B singer-songwriter Jamelia, released by EMI controlled Parlophone Records in September 2006 (see 2006 in music). The album contains the singles "Something About You", "Beware of the Dog" and "No More".

    Background

After the release of her second studio album, Jamelia took a break from her career to give birth to her second daughter Tiani. Whilst she was pregnant she started writing new material but due to her new-found happiness she found the process frustrating: "When I first tried to write, I was five months pregnant and every song was either rubbish or insincere. I thought I needed to write another Thank You, but I was so sickeningly happy, I couldn't write anything with any strong emotion." It was not until after she gave birth that she was able to rediscover her song writing skills and start laying down the foundations for her third album. Eager to continue her growth as an artist, Jamelia was determined to continue making music that reflected her personality and musical outlook: "My whole aim was to do something different. I do not believe in giving people something that they have already heard from me. We know what worked the last time (on Thank You) but I think changing and reinventing yourself is the way forward."

    Optimo

Optimo (Espacio) ('Optimum Space') was a weekly Sunday-night club based in Glasgow, Scotland at the Sub Club on Jamaica Street, as well as a collective moniker for the night's resident DJ duo. Having run every week since it was founded in 1997, on Thursday 11 March 2010, it was announced on the official Facebook page that the weekly nights would come to an end on Sunday 25 April 2010. However, JD Twitch and JG Wilkes would continue to tour, promote and release music as Optimo.

Often known simply as "Optimo," the club takes its name from the eponymous Liquid Liquid song and 1983 EP title. JD Twitch and JG Wilkes (real names Keith McIvor and Jonnie Wilkes), the club's founders and resident DJs, are also collectively known as Optimo and have toured in Europe, America, and Japan and released music under that name. In 2011 they visited China to play Split Works' inaugural Black Rabbit festival. Renowned for its diverse music policy, the club retains a reputation for adventurous innovation and hedonism. The technical side of the club has been written about in the Guardian. Twitch and Wilkes were described by Pitchfork Media in 2006 as being "one of the best DJ duos going right now."

    Optimo (EP)

Optimo is the third EP by American dance-punk band Liquid Liquid. It was released through 99 Records in 1983, becoming the band's final release until the 1997 compilation album Liquid Liquid. The EP includes Liquid Liquid's best-known song "Cavern", which was the subject of a dispute after being used for Grandmaster Melle Mel's "White Lines (Don't Don't Do It)".

    Background

The band began work on Optimo in late 1982, recording it in a studio on the top floor of Radio City Music Hall. The songs emerged from group jam sessions. Liquid Liquid recorded live, using portable sound barriers so the songs could be mixed. Because studio had previously been used by NBC Radio, the band was able to use include some of the sound effects. Ed Bahlman, who ran 99 Records, produced the EP and had the band record extended versions of songs.

Bassist Richard McGuire did the cover artwork, which consists of red, yellow, and black whorls. He wanted to capture the songs' rhythms, which he described as "like standing in the middle of four tornados all swirling around". The band's name is formed by placing liquid in stacked letters next to liquid written with a vertical baseline. McGuire wanted it to be readable in two directions so "that you had to move it to read it." The band considered "Optimo" to be "the main track" and named the EP after it.

    Walk With Me

    by: Devil Doll

When I heard of you doing what lovers do
    with somebody new, I knew
That I had to see you once again,
although I know we’ve seen the end
but just for tonight let’s just pretend...
    chorus
    Oh, Walk with me
Oh baby like it used to be
No need to tell me that you still love me
    ‘cause I know these things
    so just walk with me
When I saw the band around the finger of your left hand
I knew that never again could you be my man
And I cried as I laughed at all your jokes
You kissed me and held me oh so close
why I let go of you, I’ll never know
    and I won’t tell nobody
    if you don’t tell nobody
‘cause nobody can understand what we have
Now go ‘cause she thinks that she’s the one for you
I can’t believe this is my last goodbye to you
You tell me you hope that all of my dreams come true
