Wade Wilson may refer to:

Deadpool

Deadpool (real name Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional antihero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by artist/writer Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, the character first appeared in The New Mutants #98 cover-dated (Feb. 1991). Initially Deadpool was depicted as a supervillain when he made his first appearance in The New Mutants and later in issues of X-Force, but has since evolved into the role of an antihero. Deadpool is a disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary with the superhuman ability of an accelerated healing factor and physical prowess. He is known as the "Merc with a Mouth" because of his talkative nature and tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers to create humorous effect.

The character's popularity has seen him feature in numerous other media. In the 2004 series Cable & Deadpool, he refers to his own scarred appearance as "Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Shar-Pei"; Reynolds would eventually portray the character in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine and reprise the role in the 2016 film Deadpool — the latter incarnation bearing far more similarities to the comic book version.

Wade Wilson (American football)

Charles Wade Wilson (born February 1, 1959) is an American football coach and former quarterback who played for the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Dallas Cowboys and the Oakland Raiders in a seventeen-year career from 1981 to 1998 in the National Football League (NFL). Wilson is currently the quarterbacks coach for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football for the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions (formerly East Texas State), where he was an NAIA All-American.

Early life

Wilson was born in Greenville, Texas and lived there shortly, but moved to Commerce, Texas where he spent most of his childhood. Wilson became a standout quarterback and punter at Commerce High School, leading the Tigers to a 10-win season as a Senior and a district championship. Wilson graduated from Commerce High School in 1977 and took a scholarship offer from Texas A&M University-Commerce (then East Texas State University).
