WZEE (104.1 MHz FM) is "Z104," a radio station owned by Clear Channel Communications in Madison, Wisconsin. Z104 broadcasts a Top 40/CHR music format, and has been airing the format since 1974. WZEE airs a Hip-Hop/Urban Contemporary format on its HD Radio subchannel (104.1FM-HD2). WZEE also simulcasts sister station WTSO The Big 1070 on its HD3 subchannel.
WZEE originally signed-on in 1948 as WKOW-FM, owned by WKOW-AM (now WTSO). The station was sold in the early 1950's and became WMFM. When Z104 debuted in 1975 it was running an automated top 40 format XT40 from Drake-Chenault programming. A popular promotional vehicle at the time was the Z-104 Coke-Demin machine.
It also features popular morning DJs "Connie and Curtis".
